Football National Team Fan Tokens Are on the Rise

Sports fan tokens represent a distinct sector of the growing SportFi (sport and finance) arena, encompassing fan ownership tokens for Formula 1 teams, Esports teams, and most commonly, football teams.

Several football fan tokens have outpaced the growth of the broader cryptocurrency market in recent times, but one specific sub-section of these tokens has shown remarkably consistent growth for the past six months in particular – namely, those tied to football national teams.

While the extent of growth varies between each individual national team token, every one of them has followed a trend of quiet, persistent growth for the past six months – with some of them hitting new all-time highs in that time. 

Let’s take a look at one of the most consistently growing sub-sections of the football Fan Token market.

Croatia Football Federation Fan Token ($VATRENI)

The Croatian Football Federation Fan Token ($VATRENI) grew 436% in the past six months, climbing from a valuation of $0.22 to the current price of $1.18.

Trade volume for $VATRENI is among the lowest on this list, spiking in short bursts and rarely going above $100,000 during the time period in question. That’s unsurprising considering the token’s limited accessibility, given that it’s only available on one exchange (Gate).

The $VATRENI token launched in late 2022 at an initial fan token offering (FTO) price of $0.90, meaning it is currently trading at 31% above its launch price. A couple of months ago the token briefly hit a peak of $1.71 – marking an all-time high.

While the $VATRENI token’s market exposure may be limited, its upward momentum has been consistent since mid-2024, in which time its value has grown by an incredible 2,260%.

The Croatian men’s national football team is currently ranked 10th in the world, and is the fastest ascending national team (and also the ‘youngest’ country to enter the top ten) since its admission into FIFA competition in 1994.

Italian National Team FIGC Fan Token ($ITA)

While the Italian National Team FIGC Fan Token ($ITA) has been more volatile in the past six months, its general trajectory has remained upward.

From a low of $0.24 in April of this year, the $ITA token climbed 137% in the space of a month – hitting a high of $0.57 in late May.

The token then experienced a fallback to the $0.28 range, but then resumed its upward momentum and is currently priced at $0.38. That means overall growth of 58% in the last six months.

Available on Paribu, Gate and CoinEx, $ITA is one of the more oft-traded national team tokens, and volume has rarely fallen below $100,000 in the past six months – at times climbing to over $2 million.

Portugal National Team Fan Token ($POR)

From a low of $0.62 in April, the Portugal National Team Fan Token ($POR) has grown 43% – to its current valuation of $0.89.

The token briefly spiked to $0.98 in late May, but resumed its climb after a brief fallback.

The $POR token attracts healthy trade volume averaging over $300,000 on most days, and has spiked to over $2 million at various times in the past six months. The token is available on nine exchanges at present, and is most frequently traded on OKX and Paribu.

The Portugal men’s national team is currently ranked 6th in FIFA’s world rankings.

Peruvian National Football Team Fan Token ($FPFT)

The Peruvian National Football Team Fan Token ($FPFT) saw more volatile movement in the past six months, but zooming into the last three months, we see the $FPFT token has grown 300% in value, while remaining in the sub-cent price range.

Trade volume for $FPFT is among the lowest on this list – again, unsurprising considering it is only traded on the SAFEbit exchange. 

Despite limited accessibility, the $FPFT token has followed the trend shown by its national team token counterparts.

Spain National Team Fan Token ($SNFT)

The past three months in particular have been fruitful for the Spain National Team Fan Token ($SNFT), with the token recording 94% growth in that time.

Trade volume has been remarkably steady for $SNFT, averaging a stable ~$60,000 during the past quarter, spiking only briefly to $80,000. 

Currently only available on two exchanges – MEXC and SAFEbit – the $SNFT token represents one of the most successful and recognizable national teams of recent decades. Spain is currently ranked 2nd in the world.

Brazil National Team Fan Token ($BFT)

An investment in the Brazil National Team Fan Token ($BFT) one year ago would have yielded 53% gains by now – climbing from $0.15 to $0.23 in that time.

But after a volatile 12 months, the token fell back to the $0.005 range. Since then, the token has grown to the tune of 4,500%, making $BFT the fastest growing national team token of the past six months. 

Trade volume has remained very steady at around $60,000 in that time, suggesting steady rather than erratic growth. The $BFT token is currently traded on MEXC and SAFEbit.
