Will Belgium Fire Themselves to Egypt Win and Token Burn Tonight?

The World Cup is well and truly under way, and tonight Belgium face Egypt with the prospect of a victory burning 1% of their Fan Token™ treasury reserves.
Let’s look ahead to the Group G clash, and what it could mean for $BELG.
Burn, Belgium, Burn?
Decentralized prediction markets suggest Belgium have a 62% chance of victory tonight, with Egypt’s prospects rated at 16% and a draw 24%. Belgium are ranked 10th in the world per FIFA, while Egypt are 30th.
The Belgium Fan Token™ ($BELG), which is live on both the Chiliz Chain and Solana network, will become the second digital asset to see a portion of its reserves burned if Rudi Garcia’s team defeat Egypt.
On Sunday, Scotland registered their first World Cup win in 36 years by beating Haiti 1-0 in Boston, causing 1% of $SFA treasury holdings to be burned.
Belgium and Egypt will face off at Seattle Stadium, and Les Diables Rouges will be hoping to continue their rich vein of form, having beaten the USA, Croatia, and Tunisia in recent friendlies.

While Egypt will be relying on star men Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, Belgium have a plethora of world-class players to call upon, among them Thibaut Courtois, Kevin DeBruyne, Leandro Trossard, Jeremy Doku, and Romelu Lukaku.
Despite Belgium’s status as favourites, Egypt have won three of their previous five meetings with the Red Devils. The other teams in Group G, incidentally, are Iran and New Zealand, so barring some major upsets it is likely Belgium and Egypt will progress to the knockout rounds regardless of tonight’s result.
Argentina and Portugal Next to Burn?
Following the Belgium v Egypt game, the next opportunity for win-driven token burns will be Wednesday, when Argentina meet Algeria in Kansas (Group J) and Portugal face Congo in Houston (Group K).
If heavy favourites Argentina and Portugal win, 1% of treasury reserves of $ARG and $POR will be destroyed, causing the token to instantly become scarcer.
Argentina and Portugal could well face each other in the quarterfinals, setting up an intriguing Messi v Ronaldo battle.
