How Did Marseille’s First Europa League Win Affect the $OM Fan Token®?

Amine Gouiri’s late winner at Leverkusen brought Marseille’s domestic form to Europe, but was it enough to move the $OM Fan Token®?
Olympique de Marseille finally got their Europa League campaign moving on Thursday, Nov. 5, as they beat Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 at the BayArena.
Marseille brought their strong domestic form to European competition for the first time against Leverkusen, grabbing their first Europa League points of the season via Amine Gouiri’s 77th minute goal, bringing an end to a run of three consecutive Europa League defeats.
The match was followed by eager traders who exchanged nearly $600,000 worth of $OM tokens on the night, just a few weeks after the token’s launch. But how much did the win away to Leverkusen affect the fortunes of $OM?
Olympique de Marseille Fan Token® ($OM) Price Analysis
After launching in late October, the Olympique de Marseille Fan Token® ($OM) was immediately driven into a trading frenzy that saw nearly $12 million worth of $OM change hands in the first few days of trading.

That action cooled in the following weeks, but even moving into last night’s match against Leverkusen, $OM trade volume still stood at over $600,000.
Despite a slight decline moving into match, the value of the token now stands at 3.2% higher than it did a day earlier, after the token price climbed from $0.280 to $0.289.

Ultimately, $OM has held onto a significant amount of its launch-day trade volume, which typically declines shortly after trading commences.
A 3.2% price hike may seem modest in a market that often sees +100% spikes, but for observant $OM holders, last night’s win may have translated into easy gains for holders who resisted the urge to sell.
Marseille return to Europa League action at home to Levski Sofia on Nov. 26, with Thursday’s victory giving them something to build on in the second half of the league phase.
How Marseille Overcame Leverkusen
Gouiri gave the hosts an early warning when he forced the Leverkusen keeper into a save in the seventh minute, but Leverkusen gradually game into their own and retained the majority of possession in the first half.

The breakthrough came after the interval, when Gouiri took advantage of a defensive opening, drove forward and curled his finish into the net. Marseille then held firm through the closing stages to protect a hard-earned three points.
It was a reversal of the two clubs’ European fortunes. Leverkusen had been collecting clean sheets and victories, while Marseille had been waiting for a first point. One late goal changed both of those records, with Marseille supporters going home the happier of the two.
Speaking to Canal+ afterwards, Gouiri described it as a “perfect evening” and Marseille’s “benchmark performance in Europe” (translated from French). He also praised the team’s discipline and the enjoyment the players were taking from their football.
