Premier League Fan Token Preview: Manchester Derby and the Return of Big Ange!

Matchweek four of the English Premier League promises a heated Manchester derby, a bottom of the table clash, and a very real opportunity to hear Big Ange utter those famous words: “It’s who we are, mate,” – except this time applied to Postecoglu’s new club Nottingham Forest as they take on Arsenal away from home.

Let’s take a look at this weekend’s games in the Premier League, and see how the teams’ Fan Tokens look set to fare.

Arsenal ($AFC) vs Nottingham Forest

The Gunners have only lost once so far this season, but their opponents, Liverpool, in that case, may be one of only two teams in the league they might have been expected to lose to.

With that in mind, the odds of Arsenal overcoming Forest this weekend may already be baked into the Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) price, as $AFC has remained within the $0.39 range for the entirety of the past week.

On the Forest side of things, Ange Postecoglu is set to take charge of his first game for Nottingham Forest, and surprises could be in order depending on which version of Ange Ball™ he chooses to implement.

Manchester City ($CITY)  vs Manchester United

A home derby might be just the refresher Man City need after a stuttered start to the season. Their opponents have just one point more than City, and given United’s form so far this season there are good odds on Ruben Amorim becoming the first managerial sacking in the league this season.

The Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) has gained 11% in the leadup to this match, including 6% growth in the past 24 hours alone. A reading of the tea-leaves suggests a win for Man City this weekend.

Everton ($EFC) vs Aston Villa ($AVL)

A rejuvenated Everton face a struggling Aston Villa this weekend. Villa have one of the least-desired factoids attached to their name – after three games, they are the only team in England’s top seven leagues yet to score a single goal.

The Everton Fan Token ($EFC) gained 5% in the last 24 hours, while the Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL) gained just under 2%. While Everton may be home favourites, Villa could easily spring a surprise win and kick-start their season in earnest. This one could go either way.

Crystal Palace ($CPFC) vs Sunderland

Besides Liverpool and Chelsea, Crystal Palace are one of the only unbeaten sides in the Premier League so far. Keeping hold of Marc Guehi and – perhaps more importantly – manager Oliver Glasner, has given Palace a serious boost, and they should be favourites to overcome Sunderland (who actually sit two places above them in the table).

While the Crystal Palace Fan Token ($CPFC) is down roughly 25% in the past week, the token is still up 33% in the past month. This week’s dip might be a good opportunity to profit from the token’s continued ascendance if the result goes Palace’s way.

West Ham vs Tottenham Hotspur ($SPURS)

Despite a surprise 1-0 home defeat to Bournemouth last week, Tottenham Hotspur are still favourites to beat their London neighbours West Ham this weekend.

The Tottenham Hotspur Fan Token ($SPURS) has climbed a modest 0.8% in the past 24 hours, and 1.7% growth in the past week, with a steady $0.5M trade volume. A loss for Spurs might actually result in better token performance than a win, which might already be baked into the price.
