Crystal Palace Fan Token ($CPFC) Up 21% as Favourable Euro Draw Revealed

The Crystal Palace Fan Token ($CPFC) registered strong gains moving into the new week – and those gains could be bolstered even more after the recent UEFA Conference League Draw.
Crystal Palace have been drawn against either Norwegian club Frederikstad FK or Danish club FC Midtjylland: a tie that Palace should fancy – with some potential caveats (more below).
The Crystal Palace Fan Token ($CPFC) gained 21% in the 48 hours moving into Monday, August 4, climbing from $0.028 to $0.034.
That leaves the token more or less where it was at the start of the month after a series of ups and downs that saw it hit heights of just over $0.04.
Palace’s favourable Conference Draw Shrouded by Ifs and Buts
While Crystal Palace would be expected to overcome either Frederikstad FK or FC Midtjylland, there could be one potential complication – not to mention the fact that Palace might not actually play this game at all.
Both the Norwegian and Danish leagues run on the annual calendar, as opposed to the one used throughout most European leagues.
That means Crystal Palace will be facing a team that will be fully match fit, while most of the Palace squad will likely be without match fitness. It should be noted that Palace would play the loser of the game between Frederikstad FK and FC Midtjylland, who would drop down from the Europa League.
Meanwhile, Palace are still awaiting the outcome of their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport which could yet see them climb out of the Conference League and back into the Europa League.
Palace won the FA Cup last season – an achievement which would normally see them compete in the following season’s Europa League.
However, the club was demoted to the Conference League as punishment for breaking multi-club ownership rules.
Palace Transfer News
So far this season, Oliver Glasner’s side has only spent $2.6 million on 27-year old Ajax left-back Borna Sosa, and have brought in PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper, Walter Benitez on a free.
One ray of light shining on Selhurst Park is the pending arrival of Girona right-back Arnau Martinez to replace veteran Joel Ward, who retired at the end of last season.
Martinez gained a good reputation in Spain for his strong performances for Girona, including a match where he kept Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior quiet despite playing with a yellow card for most of the match.
Martinez’ transfer-fee is expected to be around $11.5 million, while out-of-favour striker Odsonne Edouard will move in the other direction for around $7 million.
