Why Juventus Fan Token ($JUV) Trade Volume is Exploding Ahead of ‘Eight Finals’

Trade volume for the Juventus Fan Token ($JUV) has blasted past $13 million as the Old Lady fights to earn a place in next season’s Champions League.
Manager Luciano Spalletti has described Juventus’ remaining league games as ‘eight finals’, so it’s perhaps unsurprising that Juventus Fan Token ($JUV) traders have piled in ahead of tonight’s crunch game against Genoa (Apr. 6).
With five hours to go until kick-off, 24hr trade volume currently stands at $13.3m, a rise of 1,203% since this time yesterday. The token’s spot price is also up 2.87% in the last 24 hours and 4.5% in the last three days.
How End of Serie A Season Could Affect $JUV
Currently four points adrift of the final UCL spot, Juventus need a victory at the Allianz Stadium to pull within a point of fourth-placed Como and open up a three-point cushion over Roma ($ASR).
The Bianconeri have won just two of their last seven league fixtures while Como, their key rival for the final UCL spot, have racked up five consecutive wins. Indeed, Cesc Fàbregas’ men are on the hottest streak in Serie A.
April is set to be a huge month for Juve: all four matches are against clubs in the top eight. After Como, Juve meet seventh-placed Atalanta away (Apr. 11) and host eighth-placed Bologna (Apr. 19), before travelling to Milan to face second-placed AC (Apr. 26).
Although Como appear to have an easier April schedule, they do welcome league leaders Inter Milan ($INTER) this Sunday (Apr. 12).
The Juventus Fan Token ($JUV) has trended downward since mid-March, although the recent upswing could be a sign of things to come if results go their way. Particularly given the high-profile showdowns that lie in wait.
The Dream of Top Four
According to the Opta supercomputer, Juventus have a 26.5% chance of securing a top four finish. Every club participating in Europe’s premier club competition earns £16.1m, plus an additional £1.8m per win and £600,000 per draw.
In this year’s UCL, Juventus finished 13th in the group phase before crashing out in the knockout round playoffs following a memorable 7-5 aggregate defeat to Galatasaray ($GAL).
Interestingly, Juventus have beaten Genoa more times than any other side in Serie A (70), so the omens are good for a Bianconeri win tonight. The real question is whether they can maintain momentum throughout the month, and to what extent $JUV might follow suit.
