Last Chance Saloon for Belgium’s Golden Generation in L16 Shootout vs USA

Belgium’s finest ever crop of players have the chance to advance to the World Cup quarterfinals. All they need to do is eliminate the last remaining co-host, the United States, when the pair meet in Seattle tomorrow (July 7).
For Belgium’s Red Devils, the 2026 tournament represents the last chance saloon for the so-called Golden Generation, as several senior players are likely to retire before the next major competition.
So, can Belgium knock out the in-form USA and trigger a 2.5% burn of their Fan Token™ $BELG in the process?
Belgium Underdogs as USA Eye Quarterfinal
As a result of recent good form, the 17th-ranked USA are actually slight favourites to win against the ninth-ranked Belgium when they meet tomorrow.
While Belgium toiled in group-stage draws with Iran and Egypt, and needed an extra-time penalty to beat Senegal in the last-32, the USA have mostly been impressive, and dazzled when putting Bosnia-Herzegovina to the sword last time out.
Belgium famously eliminated the USA from the 2014 World Cup thanks to late goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku, and those veterans will be hoping to play a key role in this latest tussle.

US hitman Falorin Balogun might have something to say about the outcome. The striker was red carded in the last round but had his suspension lifted, and he is in top form having scored three goals in four games.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men earned their first World Cup knockout win in 24 years against Bosnia-Herzegovina, although they may need to raise their level if Belgium bring their A-game. The Red Devils have won each of their last four meetings with the tournament co-hosts, and six of the last seven.
Whoever wins at Lumen Field, the home of NFL side Seattle Seahawks, will face the winner of Spain vs Portugal in the quarterfinal.
How is $BELG Positioned Ahead of Last-16 Duel?
With kickoff 13 hours away at the time of writing, the official Belgium Fan Token™ ($BELG) is priced at $0.259, having slid 12.4% since the win over Senegal five days ago.

Belgium’s 5-1 win over New Zealand in the group stage ensured their passage to the knockouts, and drove the price of $BELG to $0.381 from a prematch value of $0.313 (21.7%) as per Socios.com, with the victory burning 1% of the treasury balance.
A win over the USA would burn 2.5% of $BELG treasury reserves and punch their ticket to the last-eight. So, expect serious interest from Fan Token™ traders as kickoff approaches.
The USA are bidding to reach the World Cup quarters for the first time since 2002. Belgium’s Golden Generation are aiming to finally land some silverware (or should that be goldware?). And SportFi traders are looking to profit however they can.
This is one match you don’t want to miss.
