Goals for Salah, Gains for $TRA: Can Trabzonspor Keep the Momentum Up?

Mohamed Salah is setting the pace in Turkey’s scoring charts, while Trabzonspor’s Fan Token® remains around 20% above its June low.
Trabzonspor have often sat outside the spotlight of Turkish football, one that’s usually focused on the big three of Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Beşiktaş.
Yet Trabzonspor are one of the few Fan Tokens to have maintained growth over the past four months. In fact, since June, the Trabzonspor Fan Token® ($TRA) has gained 20%, at a time when many SportFi tokens stagnated or went into the red.
The impact of Mohamed Salah appears to have played no small part in $TRA’s momentum at this early stage of the season. The forward leads the Turkish Süper Lig’s goalscoring charts, and added another to his tally in Trabzonspor’s latest 2-0 win over Beşiktaş on Oct. 19.
Trabzonspor’s latest win moved the team to fourth in the league, and had an instant impact on the $TRA token’s trade volume and spot price, which added to the token’s quiet +20% climb since mid-June.
Trabzonspor ($TRA) Price Analysis
Following the win over Beşiktaş on Monday night, the value of the Trabzonspor Fan Token® ($TRA) spiked 6.5% immediately after the result came in, climbing from $0.187 to $0.199.
Seen on the chart below, the spike was short-lived. However, the token still held on to 2.4% gains for the day after the hype died down.

But $TRA has been climbing for four months now. Since its mid-June low of $0.158, the value of the token climbed as high as $0.261 upon the signing of Mohamed Salah, representing 65% growth at the time.

While that surge eventually reverted, the token has ultimately held on to 21.5% gains since June, with the token currently priced at $0.192.
That makes it rare among SportFi assets, many of which have failed to ‘wake up’ since the regular football calendar was halted over the summer, when international football hogged the focus.
The recent win over Beşiktaş sent $TRA trade volume from around $130,000 before the match, to over $650,000 in rolling daily volume as trades flooded in after the result.
Salah Tops Scoring Charts
Trabzonspor beat Beşiktaş on Oct. 19, with Ozan Tufan opening the scoring after 21 minutes before Salah added the second in the 71st minute.
That goal sent Salah to the top of the goalscoring charts in the Turkish Süper Lig, and made it four wins out of five for Trabzonspor in the Süper Lig. The team scored 14 goals in those five games, conceding just one.
The team now sits fourth in the league, just three points behind league-leaders Galatasaray.
Salah’s performances have kept him in the headlines since his August arrival from Liverpool. Having signed a two-year deal on a free transfer, he is now giving Trabzonspor supporters plenty to celebrate beyond the excitement of the signing itself.
