FanCup Gives Fan Tokens New Utility Through AI-Simulated Football

Major football events drive Fan Token® market activity, but the launch of a new AI-simulated football prediction game, FanCup, means token-holders no longer have to wait for the first whistle.
FanCup breathes fresh life into the SportFi ecosystem by giving users a fresh way to put their assets to work. The interactive experience, which is initially focused on South American football, also offers $1,000 worth of rewards during the upcoming Game Weekend (August 21-23).
Read on to learn what FanCup is, how it works, and why it provides Fan Token® holders with more value.
What is FanCup?
FanCup is an AI-simulated football prediction game built on Solana and Chiliz Chain.
A third-party product, FanCup runs AI-generated simulations, uses assets on the Solana and Chiliz blockchains, and generates match outcomes that have no relationship to actual real-world football results.
Players must select a supported Fan Token®, predict an outcome, and lock their position before kickoff, whereafter their tokens sit in escrow for the length of the prediction window.
With tokens locked, FanCup’s AI engine plays out the match using a verifiable seed, with winning positions settling in the same token used to enter.
Which Assets Can Be Used on FanCup?
Although FanCup’s Game Weekend is timed to follow the big South American tournament’s Round of 16, the game is cross-asset, meaning any supported token can back any available market.
Supported assets include $SOL, $VERDAO and $FLU Fan Tokens.
How Do FanCup Rewards Work?
There is a $1,000 rewards pool available in the FanCup Game Weekend.
Rather than running a single leaderboard, $600 will be allocated to the top five players by total payout across the Game Weekend. The remaining $400 will be provisioned for a hold-to-enter draw.
With the latter, anyone holding a supported token who places at least one prediction will get an entry – one per eligible token held. In other words, rewards are based purely on participation rather than volume.
Leaderboard and draw winners will be announced on August 24.
Why FanCup Creates Utility for Fan Tokens
FanCup turns Fan Tokens into an interactive football experience, even when the real-world action is on pause.
The answer to the question “What can I do with Fan Tokens?” has now expanded. Before, it was trade, vote, earn and redeem rewards. Now these assets can be used to make predictions on AI-simulated match outcomes.
FanCup is the latest example of a third-party game built on Fan Tokens, following the fantasy football dApp Squad Me Up which launched during the 2026 World Cup.
Will There Be More FanCup Game Weekends?
The first FanCup Game Weekend is just days away (August 21-23), kicking off after the conclusion of the South American tournament’s Round of 16. But will more follow?
Although the continuation of the Game Weekend format has not been confirmed, it is possible the tournament’s quarter-finals (September 8-17), semi-finals (October 13-22), and final (November 28) will coincide with more FanCup AI action.
For the time being, it’s all about this coming weekend and Fan Token® holders getting another opportunity to leverage their assets, compete with other users, and have fun. Intrigued? Visit fancup.fun to find out if you’ve got what it takes.
