End of an Era? $CITY Token Drops 31% Over Month as Pep Rumours Solidify

The spot price of the Manchester City Fan Token™ ($CITY) declined by 8.2% over the past 24 hours as reports appeared to confirm that current City coach Pep Guardiola would leave the club at the end of the season.
The 8.2% drop adds to a 31% decline over the course of the month, as a combination of factors saw sentiment depart $CITY towards the end of the 2025/2026 season.
City and Guardiola took home two domestic trophies this season, in the form of the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
However, City’s failure to progress in the Champions League, coupled with a general feeling that Arsenal will capture the Premier League title this weekend, saw the $CITY price decline heavily in the past month.
Guardiola’s impending departure may be forcing a pro-active repricing of the $CITY token as the club’s most successful manager looks set to be replaced by an incoming Enzo Maresca next season.
Explaining $CITY Token Price Decline
$CITY’s 31% price decline in the past month adds to a season of ups and downs, as the pendulum swung between the blue half of Manchester and the red side of north London throughout the year.
Seen below, the Manchester City Fan Token™ ($CITY) valuation was subject to strong volatility throughout the past six months, with large 50% gains followed by major declines.

The final spike on the chart above came shortly after Arsenal lost to Bournemouth and City in the space of eight days in mid-April, reigniting the Citizens’ chances of clawing back the Premier League title.
City’s domestic double appeared to hold little sway on the $CITY token price this season, which appeared to react stronger to Premier League and Champions League matches.

The Sky Blues can still technically win the Premier League title, although bookmaker odds strongly favour Arsenal to win their final game against Crystal Palace and secure their first title since 2004.
Guardiola’s Legacy at Manchester City
If news reports are correct and Guardiola is set to depart City at the end of the season, he’ll leave as the most successful manager in the club’s history.
In the space of ten years Guardiola racked up 20 trophies, including six league titles, three FA Cups, five EFL Cups, and the club’s first ever Champions League title. Guardiola has also set a win percentage rate of 70.4% which is the highest in the club’s history, and one of the highest in club football history among long-term managers.
Guardiola’s prospective replacement is reported to be Enzo Maresca, a manager who formerly worked under Guardiola as a coach at Man City, and who most recently had a tumultuous spell at Chelsea.
The $CITY token could still prove reactive should Arsenal fail to tie up the league against Crystal Palace. Beyond that, it will be interesting to see how the $CITY token reacts to a potential new start at the club next season under a new manager.
