Could Ronaldo Return Boost Portugal Fan Token® ($POR)?

Even at 41 years of age, Cristiano Ronaldo retains the X Factor, and his very presence on the pitch can provoke a reaction – including in the markets.
Portugal manager Jorge Jesus’s claim that Ronaldo might return to the team for tomorrow’s match against Denmark (Oct. 1) is unlikely to have escaped the attention of SportFi traders.
So, will Ronaldo make it off the bench this time? And if so, how could the Portugal Fan Token® ($POR) react?
What Happened When Ronaldo Last Played for Portugal
Ronaldo’s last appearance for Portugal came a week ago, in a 1-0 win over Wales in Lisbon, and though CR7 failed to get on the scoresheet, his presence on the team-sheet may have motivated a 5.1% pre-match pump in the value of the Portugal Fan Token® ($POR).

On that occasion, Ronaldo was substituted in the 67th minute for Gonçalo Ramos, and the 25-year-old must have impressed the manager, because he replaced the veteran in attack against Norway three days later (Sept. 27).
Ramos’ strike partner João Félix put Portugal ahead with his second goal in as many games, with Ramos adding the winner after Erling Haaland had equalized in the second half. Ronaldo, who is on a mission to reach 1,000 career goals, was an unused substitute.
Given the success of the Félix-Ramos strike partnership, it would be natural to suppose Ronaldo will remain on the bench for the Denmark game. But Jorge Jesus has indicated he could return, saying: “Perhaps now, against Denmark, he will play.”
How Has $POR Reacted to Nations League?
Ronaldo had hoped to cap his extraordinary international career by winning the World Cup, but with that wish extinguished, he is turning his attention to retaining the Nations League title Portugal captured last year.
The 2026-27 Nations League final is still over eight months away, however Portugal’s return to the competition has certainly affected sentiment around its official Fan Token®.
$POR was one of several international tokens to climb ahead of the tournament’s return: between Sept. 17 and 22, its spot price rose from $0.072 to $0.081, a climb of 12.5%. Although Portugal won its opening games against Wales and Norway to go top of League A Group 4, the value of $POR has fallen 5.1% from that peak.
If Ronaldo does indeed return to the lineup, and especially if he scores in a win over Denmark, it could provide a boost to $POR which continues to trade in a tight range pre-match.
Ronaldo is 21 goals shy of the 1,000 milestone, and after Denmark, Portugal play their reverse fixture against Norway in Porto (Oct. 4).
