Why Are National Team Fan Tokens Rising Ahead of the Nations League?

The Italian National Team Fan Token ($ITA) has climbed 140% in 24 hours, while $POR and $SPAIN are also gaining ahead of a packed international window.
National Team Fan Tokens® are returning to the spotlight as the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League prepares to kick off this week.
Interestingly, the token representing the team that failed to reach the 2026 World Cup – Italy – is climbing the most, with the Italian National Team Fan Token® ($ITA) having recorded over 140% growth in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, tokens like Portugal ($POR) and Spain ($SPAIN) have also recorded notable growth in the past day, as international football once again enters into the public consciousness.
Italy ($ITA) Price Climbs
Late on Monday, Sept. 21, the valuation of the FIGC Italian National Team Fan Token® ($ITA) sat at around the $0.06 mark.
By Tuesday morning, the token’s valuation had settled at $0.149 (at time of writing), after some major spikes throughout the night. $ITA’s current gains stand at 140% for the day.

$ITA trade volume more than trebled during the period of the spike, rising from a modest $60,000 to over $200,000 by the morning of Sept. 22.
Ultimately, the $ITA valuation is still a long way off the heady heights it occupied prior to Italy’s failure to reach this year’s World Cup.
However, the overnight spike did briefly send the $ITA valuation back to a valuation not witnessed since April of this year, just days after Italy failed to beat Bosnia and Herzegovina in the final World Cup qualifiers.
Since then, the $ITA valuation has declined steadily throughout the summer in lieu of international football.
While the Nations League is a relatively new addition to the world footballing calendar, it could mark the beginning of a National Team Fan Token revival in the lead up to the 2028 Euro Championships.
Italy are set to play Belgium on Friday, Sept. 25.
Portugal ($POR) and Spain ($SPAIN) Follow
Other National Team Fan Tokens followed $ITA on the day. The Portugal Fan Token® ($POR) recorded 5.1% growth, rising from a valuation of $0.078 up to $0.082.
Portugal are set to play Wales on Thursday, Sept. 24.
Meanwhile, the Spain Fan Token® ($SPAIN) valuation climbed from $0.121 up to $0.127, amounting to 4.9% gains for the 24 hour period.

The $SPAIN valuation is now up 14% for the week. The World Cup winners are due to play England at Wembley stadium on Saturday, Sept. 26.
The upcoming Nations League openers appear to have lit a fire under several participating National team Fan Tokens.
Keep an eye on this week’s results to see how the outcomes affect the valuations of the tokens involved.
