Another World Cup for Messi? Argentina Fan Token Up 17% as Ex-Teammate Speaks Out

Argentina Fan Token

The Argentina National Team Fan Token ($ARG) climbed 7.5% during a midday surge on Thursday, Oct. 23 – building on a total of 17% growth in the past ten days alone.

The $ARG token’s rise has been buoyed by trade volume ranging between $1-4 million during that time period.

Argentina have already qualified for World Cup 2026 by finishing top of their 10-team CONMEBOL group, nine points ahead of second-placed Ecuador.

The question of Argentina legend Lionel Messi’s potential appearance at another World Cup tournament was again raised this month, when former teammate Javier Saviola gave his opinion. Will Messi make it to the 2026 World Cup to defend Argentina’s trophy?

Argentina National Team Token Performance

From Thursday’s morning low of $0.752, the spot price of the Argentina National Team Fan Token ($ARG) climbed to $0.809 over the course of the day – marking growth of 7.5%.

Going back just over a week further, the $ARG token price was perched at just $0.689. Since then, the token’s valuation grew to this morning’s peak of $0.809 – marking growth of 17% in just over ten days.

Despite heavy volatility not only in the broader Fan Token market – and in the $ARG token itself, the token has shown strong resilience amid the chaos, while also maintaining its multi-million dollar average daily trade volume.

Six months ago the $ARG token was valued at $0.60. In the summer that valuation rose to just over $1. Despite the drop off back down to today’s prices, the token is still 30% more valuable now than it was during the spring months.

Former Teammate Says Messi Will be at World Cup 2026

As reported by Foxsports.com, former Argentina and Barcelona teammate, Javier Saviola, gave his opinion on the question that’s been dogging Lionel Messi in the lead up to next year’s World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

According to Saviola, Messi is still hungry and in good shape, and while the former striker says he can’t get inside Leo’s head, he still believes he’ll make the World Cup next year.

“I think he’ll be there. I see him eager, involved, enjoying himself. But I also feel like we’re nearing the end of a wonderful story. I hope it brings closure to everything he gave us,” said Saviola.

Meanwhile, Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni was more philosophical on the matter, stating: “Messi has won the right to decide when he retires. Let’s enjoy Messi while we have him.”
