Serie A preview: $ASR climbing ahead of season opener

The theme song for the gloriously brilliant Football Italia show on Channel 4 was aptly called “I’m Stronger Now” by Definitive Two, and as that unshakable tune plays in our heads now, it’s hard to argue with the title: the Serie A is definitely stronger this season, as it looks like the glory days of Italian football are back.
We’ve enjoyed an exciting summer of new signings, big teams making huge managerial changes, and there’s also a couple of former Premier League stars looking to shine in Naples.
AS Roma’s Fan Token $ASR had a strong summer as the first-team squad underwent significant changes. They’ve brought in a new manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, and enhanced every area of their team with new signings.
Roma kick off their campaign against Bologna on Saturday night, and this is probably the clash of the weekend with the top teams kept separate early on. $ASR sells for $3.22 and was climbing over 4% at the time of writing. Expectations are huge as the Giallorossi look to open with a convincing win against the team that finished 9th last season.
Bologna too have strengthened as they eye those key European spots. Tommaso Pogeba, Federico Bernardeschi, Nicolo Casale, Nadir Zortea are amongst their cohort of new signings, and they do look solid. They are potential dark horses in the Serie A this season, so Roma have their work cut out in the opener. It is worth noting that at $0.13, $BFC might be a case of buying low early doors to pitch for gains.
$NAP remains undervalued at $0.73
Champions Napoli get the early kick off on Saturday, looking for a win in Sassuolo. The $NAP Fan Token was perhaps the underdog in summer, and with a price of $0.73, it continues to look undervalued and could rise t, especially if the first team can get off to a flyer. Conte’s got his new man in Kevin de Bruyne, but also look out for Noa Lang and Sam Beukuma, who left Bologna and headed south. They’ve built a solid squad, and that Fan Token remains an interesting prospect.
Milan and Inter open at home under new management
In a rare event, both the sides play at home this weekend, with Milan taking on Cremonese on Saturday, before the San Siro is reset for Inter v Torino on Monday night. Both clubs have new managers too. Christian Chivu takes the reins for his league bow for Inter, while the experienced Massimiliano Allegri, who excelled at Juventus, looks to repeat his success with AC Milan.
$ACM currently trades at just over $1, while $INTER is priced at $0.58. This might reflect investor confidence in the new managers. Chivu, though a former Inter player, is relatively inexperienced, having only managed Parma from midway through last season. His ties to Inter run deep, however, as he worked with most of their youth teams before his spell at Parma.
Milan focused their transfer window on enforcing their defence, bringing in four defenders and two defensive midfielders while capturing Luca Modric on a free. Allegri’s tactical approach will determine how his side will cope in a league dripping with attacking talent.
Juventus look stable and strong – $JUV at $1.35
Allegri’s former side, Juventus, raise their curtains at home to Parma where they are the favourites to win. Igor Tudor, another former player, takes control, and he brought in a host of new signings. Francisco Conceição, Nico Gonzalez, Lloyd Kelly, Pierre Kalulu will be introduced early on, and fans are excited by the prospect of a stable and solid first team. Juve finished fourth last season, and with the $JUV Fan Token priced at $.1.35, the price perhaps indicates investor confidence ahead of the opening weekend.
Early momentum will be key for these big hitters and we look forward to discussing how the first match results affect the price of the team’s Fan Tokens. As 18:30 CEST on Saturday 18:30 edges closer, excitement builds around what could be a brilliant, tightly contested Serie A season.
