Premier League Fan Token Roundup: As Expected for Fans and Traders Alike

There were no big surprises during the opening weekend of the English Premier League as most of the results went as expected for the major Fan Tokens token holders – with a couple of minor exceptions.

The same might be said for active fan token traders as most of the big winners saw a sharp decline to their values after evidencing upward trends in the run up to matchday one.

This could suggest that some of big favourites’ results were already baked into the token prices in the run up to the weekend.

Manchester City (CITY) vs Wolves

New City signings Tijani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki stole most of the headlines in the 4-0 win against Wolves, but the potential future England No.1 James Trafford enjoyed a good match between the sticks after his move from Burnley.

The Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) had gained 30% in the month leading up to the match, but after the whistle blew the token’s value dropped 7%, from $1.21 to $1.12.

However at time of writing the $CITY token recorded a 7% spike, climbing back up to the $1.20 mark, before falling back to $1.15. It seems there’s more to come for $CITY in the run up to their next game against Tottenham Hotspur ($SPURS).

Manchester United vs Arsenal ($AFC)

Manchester United couldn’t put their superior possession to use against Arsenal this weekend, as Mikel Arteta’s men stole a 1-0 win away from home. Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 formation has yet to click, while old goalkeeping problems reared their ugly heads again.

Arsenal’s new signings did well, but it was last season’s signing Riccardo Calafiori who got the winner.

The Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) gained 26% in the month leading up to the match, but a 4% decline since then again suggests Arsenal’s win may have been baked in to this weekend’s win.

Aston Villa ($AVL) vs Newcastle

A 0-0 draw was probably a fair result for both teams, however, Villa will be disappointed they couldn’t put their home advantage to better use. Likewise, Newcastle will be thinking they should have taken better advantage of Villa’s Ezri Konsa’s red card in the 66th minute.

The Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL) climbed 10% in the week leading up to the match, reaching a peak of $0.22. At its current standing of $0.21, it would seem not much has changed for $AVL, either on or off the pitch.

Tottenham Hotspur ($SPURS) vs Burnley

A 3-0 win under new manager Thomas Frank and a bicycle kick from Richarlison was all Spurs fans could have hoped for in the opening match of the season.

The Tottenham Hotspur Fan Token ($SPURS) fan token spiked 13% in the lead up to the match, and the 4% decline since then might suggest wily $SPURS traders took some profits from the 3-0 win.

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace ($CPFC)

A disallowed free-kick from Eberechi Eze will leave a sour taste in the mouth of Palace fans, but taking a point away from Stamford Bridge in a 0-0 draw will be seen as a good consolation.

The Crystal Palace Fan Token ($CPFC) has been up and down for most of the past month, and remains more or less where it was at the start of the week. Not much change here.

Leeds United ($LUFC) vs Everton ($EFC)

Scheduled for tonight.
