Premier League Fan Token Review: Gunners Stay Top While Spurs Fall to Villains

An all-action Premier League weekend saw Arsenal consolidate their position in top spot, while Manchester City moved up the table into second, just three points off the Gunners.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa kicked Tottenham out of the top four and continued their five game unbeaten march up the table.

Let’s take a look at how matchweek eight in the English Premier League played out for the teams and the Fan Tokens involved.

Manchester City ($CITY) 2 – 0  Everton ($EFC)

Everton held on throughout the first half but ultimately succumbed to two second-half goals from Erling Halaand. City retained 71% possession while limiting Everton’s shot on goals to just one.

The result propelled Man City up the league into second spot, just three points behind Arsenal, while Everton dropped down to 12th after a solid start to the season.

Since the day of the match the Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) climbed 8% – from $0.74 to $0.80.

Meanwhile the Everton FC Fan Token ($EFC) dropped 4.3% – from $0.116 down to $0.111, while staying within that 11-cent range.

Fulham  0 – 1 Arsenal ($AFC)

Another win on the road consolidated Arsenal’s position at the top of the league and sent then four points clear of Liverpool, who dropped down to third spot after their third consecutive loss. Trossard’s second-half goal was ultimately enough to leave Fulham’s Craven Cottage with all three points.

The Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) is up 3.5% at time of writing for the 24 hours leading up to Monday morning, while the token’s gains since the weekend’s fixture stand at 7.4%.

Crystal Palace ($CPFC) 3 – 3 Bournemouth

The most exciting match of the weekend saw Bournemouth go 2-0 up in the first half before Crystal Palace fought back to 2-2 in the second half. Bournemouth regained the lead with a dramatic goal in the 89th minute, before Crystal Palace equalized with an even more dramatic goal in the 97th minute, seven minutes into extra time.

On Monday morning the Crystal Palace Fan Token ($CPFC) was up 5.7% over 24 hours, while the token’s gains since the weekend stand at 12.2%.

Tottenham Hotspur ($SPURS) 1 – 2 Aston Villa ($AVL)

Tottenham were favourites going into this match but the revival of Aston Villa continued as goals from Rogers and Buendia cancelled out Bentancur’s 8th minute opener.

Tottenham fell from third to sixth in the table, while Aston Villa climbed to 11th after recording their third win in the past three games, and making it five games unbeaten overall.

The Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL) gained 4.8% since the weekend, while the Tottenham Hotspur Fan Token ($SPURS) managed to hold on to 2.6% growth after rising and falling following the weekend’s game.

Burnley 2 – 0 Leeds United ($LUFC)

Burnley grabbed just their second win of the season and lifted themselves out of the relegation zone in the process.

Leeds made it two losses in a row and three without a win, and now find themselves positioned in 15th, just a point above Burnley.

Despite the loss, the Leeds United Fan Token ($LUFC) was up 4.8% for the 24-hour period leading up to Monday morning, and 6.6% since the weekend’s fixture.
