La Liga Fan Token Preview: Barcelona, Atletico, Valencia, Sevilla and More

This weekend’s La Liga matchups see Barcelona attempt to consolidate their winning start and remain among the league leaders, while every other team continues to seek out their first win of the season.
Let’s take a look at how the Spanish teams and their respective Fan Tokens are shaping up ahead of matchweek three in La Liga.
Rayo Vallecano vs Barcelona ($BAR)
After losing 13% of its value in the previous few weeks – as detailed here in our analysis of major clubs experiencing a market downturn – the Barcelona Fan Token ($BAR) has gained back nearly 3% in the leadup to the Rayo Vallecano game.
Barcelona’s first two games of the season were away from home (both of which they won), and they face an away-day once again against Rayo Vallecano.
Barcelona are strong bookies’ favourites for the match, and have beaten Rayo in their last three league games against the club.
However, one small sticking point for Barca is that they have won only one of their last three league games away from home against Rayo (D1, L2). Meanwhile, Rayo are full of confidence as they embark upon their first European campaign in 25 years.
Valencia ($VCF) vs Getafe
Valencia look for their first win of the season against Getafe after a draw against Real Sociedad ($RSO) and a loss against Osasuna.
That might be tough, however, considering Getafe are in good form with two wins out of two, and sit in 4th place with just one goal conceded. The silver lining for Valencia is they’ve won the last four against Getafe at the Mestalla, and haven’t lost a home against Getafe since 2017/18.
The Valencia Fan Token ($VCF) token has lost 11% in the past week. Perhaps a win against Getafe this weekend could reverse that trend?
Alaves vs Atletico Madrid ($ATM)
Ateltico find themselves in a similar position to Valencia after two league games, with a draw and a loss to their name so far.
In the past week the Atletico Madrid Fan Token ($ATM) has lost 14% of its value, but a volatile last 24 hours saw it gain nearly 5% in a short, sharp spike.
Atletico are favourites for the upcoming match, but an analysis of recent history should be enough to give Alaves some home – Alaves have gone unbeaten in the last three games they’ve hosted Ateltico at home.
Real Oviedo vs Real Sociedad ($RSO)
Real Sociedad find themselves in mid-table after two draws out of two, and are expected by fans and bookies alike to get their first win of the season against newly promoted Real Oviedo.
The Real Sociedead Fan Token ($RSO) is still up 25% over the month, and has hovered in between the $0.045 – $0.055 range in the past week.
Sociedad lost their main Martín Zubimendi to Arsenal in the summer, but have shown great resiliency in snatching two draws from poor positions so far. The last time these two played in the league was in 2014, but Sociedad remain unbeaten in their last three against Oviedo in cup competition.
Girona vs Sevilla ($SEVILLA)
Sevilla have lost two out of two so far this season, but they can take hope from the fact that their opponents this weekend have done the same.
The Sevilla Fan Token ($SEVILLA) has remained remarkably stable in the past month, hovering near the $0.19 mark for much of that time.
Sevilla won their last league meeting against Girona – but that win was their first in a six-game losing streak against this opposition.
Elche vs Levante U.D ($LEV)
While the Levante U.D Fan Token ($LEV) has had a tumultuous month, its token price has rarely left the $0.07 – $0.08 price range.
Levante have lost two out of two so far, but their last match against Barcelona should give them some optimism as Barca could only snatch a win in the last minutes after Levante went up 2-0.
Elche are the bookies’ favourites, but Levante are unbeaten in this matchup in the last six, going all the way back to 2020/21.
