The genesis for Fan Tokens was in Turin on November 28th, 2019, when Juventus Football Club made history by launching $JUV, the first-ever Fan Token. This groundbreaking innovation empowered fans with unprecedented engagement opportunities, offering voting rights on club decisions and access to exclusive rewards. Through blockchain-powered Fan Tokens, Juventus revolutionized fan interaction, setting a new standard for sports communities globally.

Just days later, on December 2nd, 2019, the impact of Fan Tokens was felt as Juventus held the first-ever binding poll on Socios.com. Token holders voted to make Blur’s ‘Song 2’ the club’s goal celebration track, which was triumphantly played four times as Juve won 4-0 against Cagliari, with Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick. This moment, widely reported, marked a transformative chapter in fan engagement, showcasing the true power of Fan Tokens in sports history.

Fan Tokens on Binance

Those four goals set the tone, and it was onward and upward, with more European giants joining Socios.com. Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain soon followed, and when Binance listed three Fan Tokens, it was clear, this Digital Asset class was making a major impact on the sports and crypto spheres. AS Roma, OG, AS Roma and Atlético paved the way, making history.
