Why $MENGO Climbed 29% in a Month as Flamengo Fight to Retain Title

The Flamengo Fan Token® ($MENGO) has been quietly racking up gains as the token’s value has climbed 29% in the past thirty days.
The token’s positive trajectory comes amid a crucial period for the title holders in the Campeonato Brasileirão Série A.
Flamengo currently find themselves in second place in the league table, six points behind Palmeiras, with a game in hand still to play.
After losing their last game against Cruzeiro, Flamengo now must win against Botafogo in the Rio de Janeiro derby on Sunday night to stop Palmeiras opening up an even wider gap at the top of the table.
$MENGO’s Price Increase in August
The value of the Flamengo Fan Token® ($MENGO) started climbing one month ago when it was priced at $0.016.
On Aug 28, at time of writing, the $MENGO token price had climbed to a high of $0.02, marking a four-week increase of 29.37%.

The rise in the $MENGO valuation developed over several weeks, coinciding with Flamengo remaining firmly involved in the league title race and advancing to the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores.

Flamengo vs Botafogo – Rio Derby
Flamengo enter the 25th round of the Brasileirão in second place with 45 points, six behind Palmeiras but with a game in hand. A win for Flamengo would shorten that gap to three points, keeping the team in the heat of the title race. A loss would open up Palmeiras’ lead to six points.
Flamengo have already beaten Botafogo twice in 2026. The first victory came in the Campeonato Carioca semi-finals, when goals from Lucas Paquetá and Erick Pulgar secured a 2-1 comeback win.
Flamengo then produced a commanding performance in the first Brasileirão meeting, winning 3-0 on March 14. Samuel Lino and Léo Pereira scored before half-time, with Pedro adding the third shortly after the restart.

Why This Matters for $MENGO
It’s notable that $MENGO has sprung back into life even at a time when the rest of the market hasn’t.
The potential for last year’s title winners to fall six points behind the league-leaders Palmeiras ($VERDAO) presents genuine jeopardy, and appears to have been enough to spring traders back into action.
$MENGO recorded trade volume in excess of $500,000 on two occasions this month, and frequently recorded sessions where $100,000 to $250,000 worth of $MENGO tokens changed hands.
