Which 2026 Deadline Day Transfers Affected Fan Tokens?

The Premier League’s summer transfer window has officially closed, with spending topping $3.4 billion, and as usual deadline day (Sept. 1) saw numerous players join new clubs.
Although transfers are still permitted in several countries – Scotland and Belgium until Sept. 3, Portugal until Sept. 15, and the Saudi Pro League until Oct. 12 – most of Europe, including Italy, Spain, and France, is now under embargo.
So, which key signings were made by Fan Token® clubs, and could they move the needle where market sentiment is concerned?
Can £125M Fernández Light Up $CITY?
Enzo Maresca finally got his man, engineering a reunion with his captain at Chelsea, Enzo Fernández. It wasn’t cheap – City paid a joint-British record £125M for the 25-year-old – but Maresca felt it was necessary after the departures of Rodri and Bernardo Silva.
Fernández will bring experience and steel to the City team. A World Cup winner, he is expected to partner another new arrival, £116M signing Elliot Anderson, in the base of the midfield.
And the Argentine wasn’t City’s only deadline day arrival: they also completed a £65M deal for Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye.
The Manchester City Fan Token® ($CITY) enjoyed a modest 4.4% intraday bounce on deadline day before losing steam, although it is still up 0.7% over the last 24 hours. Trade volumes have also climbed past $2M from $1.1M yesterday morning.
Will Grealish Spark Everton ($EFC) Revival?
Everton may have lost Iliman Ndiaye to City, but Jack Grealish moved in the other direction. The talented Englishman arrives on a season-long loan, having impressed in blue last season before February’s foot fracture.
Interestingly, the winger is out of contract at City next summer. So a strong season at Everton could prime him for a permanent move.
Although trade volumes for the Everton FC Fan Token® ($EFC) have climbed 113% since yesterday morning, the token’s value has actually dropped 4.7% in the last 24 hours.
Could Jesus Bolster $BAR Attack?
Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus joined La Liga champions Barcelona on deadline day, in an unexpected £8.6M deal. Jesus has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal, with Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyökeres the preferred strikers.

Barcelona are clearly keen to replace outgoing Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, although they don’t seem to be hurting for goals: they’ve scored 17 in their last four games.
Jesus may function as a backup option for Raphinha, but with Barcelona competing on multiple fronts, the hitman will surely get his opportunity to shine. The FC Barcelona Fan Token® ($BAR) is down 0.4% in the last 24 hours, and Barcelona return to league action away to Valencia this Sunday (Sept. 6).
Villa Rebuild as Mbaye Arrives
Aston Villa have lost several key players of late, not least striker Ollie Watkins, defender Ezri Konsa, and goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez. But the Europa League winners have refused to stand still, and have pulled off quite a coup by landing Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye in a £47M deal.
18-year-old Mbaye represented France at youth level, then scored against them for Senegal during the World Cup, becoming the youngest African player to score at a finals in the tournament’s history. Villa have also signed English centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Southampton for £29M.
Important as these transfers appear to be, they did not provoke an upturn in the fortunes of the Aston Villa Fan Token® ($AVL) which is down 1.3% since yesterday and 7.4% in the last week, a period that included a 1-0 home league to Arsenal. Villa travel to newly-promoted Hull City this Saturday (Sept. 5).
