What’s Next for Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL) After Exiting Title Race?

Aston Villa were one of the surprise packages of the Premier League before dropping out of the title race in recent weeks, so it’s natural to wonder how the season might end, for the team as well as the Fan Token.
Having exited the FA Cup last month, the Villans are now laser-focused on two competitions: the league and the Europa League, where they are among the favourites to lift the trophy in May.
So, what’s next for the Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL)?
How Aston Villa Fan Token Could End Season Strong
At the time of writing, with ten matches of the Premier League season remaining, Aston Villa are in a strong position: if they can maintain their current position of fourth, it would be considered a great success and sentiment around $AVL could turn positive.
Not only would securing fourth deliver Villa a spot in next season’s Champions League, but it would likely be at the expense of either last season’s Premier League champions Liverpool, FIFA Club World Cup winners Chelsea, or Manchester United.
Of course, finishing fourth isn’t Aston Villa’s only route to next season’s UCL: winning the Europa League would grant them entry, just as it did for Spurs last season. Villa finished second in the 36-team group stage, winning seven against one defeat, and are scheduled to face Lille (who finished 18th) in the round-of-16 (March 12/19).
Attaining UCL football, whether via the league or European competition, would be big for Villa, but what is the best possible outcome from the remaining matches? Well, theoretically they could still win the Premier League but it’s extremely unlikely: Polymarket rate the likelihood at <1%.
Third place, though, isn’t out of the question: Villa lie behind Manchester United only on goal difference, and third would be the club’s highest placing since finishing second in the inaugural Premier League season in 1993.
Needless to say, winning a first European trophy since 1982 would be huge for the club. Indeed, it’s been a quarter of a century since Aston Villa won a trophy of any description, the 2001 Intertoto Cup.
Realistically, Aston Villa have a credible shot at winning the Europa League and finishing third in the Premier League, something which could certainly reverse the recent trend for $AVL.
How Has $AVL Performed This Season?
The Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL) has had mixed fortunes this season, but it certainly delivered plenty of value when the club were racking up wins in November and December.
Between August 16 and September 21 the token fell from $0.208 to $0.177 per socios.com data, a drop of 14.9%, after Villa failed to get a win in their first five league matches. Unai Emery’s men then clicked into gear and began to climb the table, although it took a while for $AVL to enjoy a sustained upward trajectory.
On November 21, Villa had risen to sixth in the league, above Liverpool and Manchester United after a thumping 4-0 victory over Bournemouth. $AVL began its climb, rising from $0.091 to $0.173 by December 8, an extraordinary jump of 90.1%.
December 8, of course, was just two days after Emi Buendía’s injury-time winner against Arsenal, a result that took Villa to within three points of the league summit. $AVL, though, would reach two higher peaks before form started to dip, hitting $0.179 on December 28 (after beating Chelsea away) and $0.182 on January 18 (prior to an upset home loss to Everton).

Today, $AVL is priced at $0.116, meaning it’s dropped 44.2% since the opening day of the season and 36.2% since January 18. However, with UCL qualification at stake and a Europa League still to play for, sentiment could quickly flip from bearish to bullish.
Looking ahead, Villa have a huge midweek game at home to sixth-placed Chelsea (March 4), the aforementioned Europa League knockout tie with Lille (March 12/19), and an away match at third-placed Manchester United (March 15). If results go their way, they could enter April, and the season’s home straight, in a very good place.
