What Man $CITY’s 28% Weekly Surge Says About the Premier League Title Race

The Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) saw its spot price increase by 28.5% in the past week, after Arsenal’s surprise loss to Bournemouth blew the English Premier League title race wide open.
Manchester City are now six points behind Arsenal with a game in hand. Crucially, the two clubs also meet in the Premier League this Sunday at City’s Etihad Stadium.
Should City manage to overcome Arsenal in the upcoming match and then win their game in hand, the two clubs will be level on points at the top of the table.
Both clubs’ Fan Tokens are already reacting to the possibility of an extremely close title run-in.
Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) Climbs on Title Chance
From its weekly low of $0.505, the valuation of the Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) climbed to $0.649 by April 15, as per price data from Socios.com.
The $CITY token’s trade volume jumped to a high not witnessed since December of 2025, hitting $21.4M on April 13.
Ultimately, the spot price of $CITY has now regained all of the losses incurred in the month of March, when the token price fell from $0.65, as it appeared City’s title chances were over.
Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) Price Takes a Hit
In the same week that Arsenal lost at home to Bournemouth, the valuation of the Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) price sank from $0.590 down to $0.484, as per price data from Socios.com.
That amounted to a 17.9% decrease in less than seven days, as trade volume rose from $800,000 to over $4.2M on April 12 (the day before $CITY’s trade volume peaked).
This week’s action marked a major reversal for the $AFC token, which had been on a monumental upsurge for much of the previous quarter.
Between February and April alone, the $AFC token price increased by over 70%, as Arsenal opened up a gap at the top of the Premier League.
What’s Next for $CITY and $AFC?
Given that Arsenal are still the team with the points on the board already, while City must still make good use of their game in hand, Arsenal remain favourites to capture the title among most bookmakers.
However, due to Arsenal’s Champions League match against Sporting CP tonight (April 15), City’s players will find themselves more refreshed when they meet Arsenal in the league on Sunday.
The sudden upturn by the $CITY token undoubtedly points to a rekindling of hope and expectation among fans and traders that City could steal the league from Arsenal in the final weeks of the season.
However, Arsenal haven’t surrendered just yet. The $AFC token’s 70% gains between February and April make it one of the best performing cryptocurrencies of the year so far.
This Sunday’s match will have a major say in how these two tokens react next.
