Telefónica Partners for Valencia’s New Stadium
Valencia’s plans for a new stadium had been halted for years, but were kickstarted again in 2025, and the ‘Nou Mestalla’ is now expected to open in the summer of 2027.
Valencia’s leadership has stated that the alliance with Telefónica positions the telecoms firm as a strategic partner from the outset.
Telefónica will be responsible for installing a LAN (local area network) in the stadium to support its daily operations and administration.
The firm will also implement stadium-wide Wi-Fi that will be capable of supporting tens of thousands of users throughout the venue. Telefónica will also implement the stadium’s cybersecurity system, which will oversee and protect the new digital services featured in the stadium upon launch.
“Telefónica will contribute its expertise and innovative capacity to equip the Nou Mestalla with technological resources aligned with Valencia CF’s forward-looking vision, enabling the club’s growth and competitiveness in the sports and entertainment sector,” the club said.
