The Fenerbahçe Fan Token ($FB) Just Jumped 43% in 24hrs. Here’s Why

The Fenerbahçe Fan Token ($FB) is the best-performing SportFi asset over the last 24 hours, its value having rocketed 43% per Socios.com. 

So, why is $FB mooning and what lies ahead for the Turkish title contenders?

Why $FB is Climbing

The reason for the rising value of Fenerbahçe Fan Token ($FB) is simple: Fenerbahçe won at the weekend and their title rivals did not.

On Saturday (Apr. 11), second-placed Fenerbahçe impressively dispatched Kayserispor 4-0 away from home while Trabzonspor, who were third but level on points with Fenerbahçe, could only manage a 1-1 draw away at Alanyaspor.

A day later, table-toppers Galatasaray also drew 1-1 with Kocaelispor, meaning Fenerbahçe had slashed their lead from four points to two. Galatasaray now have 68 points, Fenerbahçe 66, and Trabzonspor 64. 

With seven games remaining, there are still 21 points to play for, meaning it’s still very much a three-horse race.

It is notable that the markets did not react to Fenerbahçe’s resounding 4-0 win over Kayserispor, but the value of $FB rocketed in the aftermath of Galatasaray’s stalemate. In the wake of that game, $FB trade volumes also surged from $2.65M to $13M (+390.5%) in a matter of hours.

In contrast to $FB, the value of the Galatasaray Fan Token ($GAL) has nosedived 17.3% in 24 hours, wiping out gains it had made in the preceding days. 

As for the Trabzonspor Fan Token ($TRA), it’s up 2.9% in the last 24 hours, perhaps a reflection of traders’ belief that Trabzonspor remains in the title hunt after Galatasaray’s draw. Earlier this month, Trabzonspor handed Galatasaray a 2-1 defeat, a result that caused the value of $TRA to jump 28.3%.

What’s Next for $FB?

Clearly, upcoming fixtures will feed into sentiment for the trio’s Fan Tokens, and though every match counts, many traders will already be looking ahead to a likely top-of-the-table clash between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe on Sunday, April 26.

With just one league match for all three between now and then, it is possible a Fenerbahçe win in Istanbul would take them to the league summit at Galatasaray’s expense. A draw, meanwhile, would open the door for Trabzonspor to pull within touching distance of both teams.

With more twists and turns likely up ahead, expect the Süper Lig to continue attracting interest from Fan Token traders until the end of the season.
