The match week 8 of LaLiga produced yet another series of exciting results particularly with the clash against Sevilla and FC Barcelona which ended 4-1 in favor of Sevilla.

Girona finally recorded their first win of the season as they edged past Valencia by 2-1 as Valencia suffered back to back defeats in their last two games. Girona, who had not recorded a single win this season, had lost four matches and drawn two. Thus, the victory moved them up a bit in the relegation zone as they are on the same level with Real Oviedo and Celta de Vigo in terms of points (6).
