Is Manchester City ($CITY) or Arsenal ($AFC) Fan Token the Better Hold in February?

Manchester City’s dramatic comeback win over Liverpool on Sunday (Feb. 8) kept the flame of their Premier League ambitions burning, and raised the question of whether the $CITY Fan Token could be primed for another positive run.
Although Arsenal remain at the summit of the table, six points ahead of their rivals, there are ample reasons for optimism among City backers, including those holding the Fan Token.
At the same time, the nerves of $AFC holders will have been steeled by Arsenal’s commanding 3-0 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.
So, which asset is the better hold for the rest of this month?
Can $CITY Fan Token Outperform $AFC in February?
It’s been a crazy few months for Man City. In December, Pep’s men won seven out of seven, including a wild 5-4 win away at Fulham and a shock 2-1 victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabéu, consistency that delivered 27.9% gains for the token over the course of the month per Socios.com data.
January, by comparison, was unimpressive: four wins, three draws, two defeats and a growing sense that the Premier League title was heading to north London.
After defeating Liverpool at Anfield, though, the outlook is brightening for City and, by extension, the Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY). Over the last three days, the value of $CITY has jumped 7.5% compared to 5.3% for the Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC).
Looking ahead to upcoming fixtures, City have three consecutive home games: versus Fulham (Feb. 11) in the league, Salford City in the FA Cup (Feb. 14), and Newcastle United in the league (Feb. 21). Their final February game is away to 16th-placed Leeds United (Feb. 28).
Arsenal, meanwhile, have a tougher schedule: they’re away to seventh-placed Brentford in the league (Feb. 12), at home to Wigan in the FA Cup (Feb. 15), away to Wolves (Feb. 18), and then away to Tottenham Hotspur (Feb. 22).
How $CITY Could Close Gap on Arsenal
It is not inconceivable that Arsenal will drop points to Brentford this Thursday, particularly given Brentford’s recent wins away at Newcastle United and Aston Villa, the latter of which torpedoed Villa’s title ambitions.
Providing City handle business against Fulham on Wednesday night, an Arsenal draw at Brentford would narrow the gap from six points to four. An Arsenal defeat would cut it to three, with a dozen league matches remaining.
Looking at their respective fixtures in February, it is easy to imagine City winning all four games while it is just easy to see Arsenal dropping points, particularly in the away fixtures at Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur.
Of course, there is another perspective worth considering. Which is that time is running out for City to catch up with Arsenal. With every win the Gunners record, their prospects of league success increase. Which may explain why over the last 24 hours $AFC trade volume is $6.38m compared to $2.97m for $CITY.
By the time the pair meet at Wembley in the League Cup final (Mar. 22), we may have a clearer indication of where the title is headed in May. In the meantime, Fan Token traders will have no shortage of opportunity to get in on the action.
