How the Milan Derby Resulted in a 6-Point Swing for $INTER and $ACM

AC Milan’s win over Inter in the Milan derby on Sunday, March. 8, resulted in a six-point swing both on the league table and in the crypto charts.
With ten points between league-leaders Inter Milan and second-placed AC Milan prior to kickoff, the game was a must-win for AC Milan if they had any chance of keeping their Serie A title hopes alive.
AC Milan delivered, and the final whistle was immediately followed by a decline in the valuation of the Inter Milan Fan Token ($INTER), and an increase to the spot price of the AC Milan Fan Token ($ACM).
With just ten matches left to play in the league season, is AC Milan’s derby victory too little too late, or could we be in for a dramatic title shootout at the end of the season?
How $ACM Reacted to AC Milan’s Derby Win
From Sunday morning’s low of $0.413 just hours prior to the game, the spot price of the AC Milan Fan Token ($ACM) had risen to $0.427 by midday on Monday, March. 9.

The token’s growth spurt amounted to 3.4% growth in the wake of the Milan derby, and was accompanied by a 45% increase to trade volume, which rose from $660,000 to just under $1 million in the 24-hour period.
How $INTER Reacted to Derby Loss
Almost immediately after Pervis Estupinan’s 35th minute goal for AC Milan struck the back of the net, the valuation of the Inter Milan Fan Token ($INTER) began to drop.
From the token’s high of $0.550 just prior to kickoff, the $INTER valuation dropped to $0.518 just over an hour after the match, and eventually hit a low of $0.517 on Monday, marking a decline of 6%.
Despite $INTER’s decline, the token still had the superior trade volume on the day, which peaked at $5.75 million.
$INTER’s trade volume has been on the rise since the mid-point of the season, following Inter Milan’s climb up the league. Likewise, $ACM trade volume has declined in recent months as AC Milan’s title campaign began to falter.
The 6% drop in the valuation of $INTER does hint at the possibility of a dramatic reversal in a sport where anything can happen.
However, with a seven-point lead still in place, Inter fans will still expect their team to take care of business in the final ten games of the season.
