How PSG and Arsenal Set Up European Fan Token™ Final

For the third time in four seasons, the Champions League final will be contested by Fan Token™ clubs, after Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain won their midweek semifinals.
While Arsenal’s slim 1-0 victory over Atlético Madrid sent them to the UCL showpiece for the first time in 20 years, Paris Saint-Germain’s 1-1 draw in Germany was enough to secure a 6-5 aggregate victory over Bayern Munich.
Naturally, the SportFi market reacted to the semifinals with soaring trade volumes and sharp increases in value for the winners’ official tokens.
$AFC and $PSG Post Big Gains After Semi Wins
Priced at $0.389 on the morning of their last Premier League match against Fulham (May 2), which the Gunners won 3-0, the Arsenal Fan Token™ ($AFC) had surged to $0.505 by the end of the Atlético game three days later, representing a steep 72hr rise of 29.8%.
Arsenal are now potentially four games away from a historic Premier League and UCL double, an outcome that could deliver more gains for $AFC. In the wake of the Atlético win on Tuesday night, trade volumes for the Gunners’ official token soared to 7.8M.

As for the Paris Saint-Germain Fan Token™ ($PSG), results were even more impressive: the token’s value climbed from $0.757 before the Bayern game to a six-month high of $1.120 mid-match, a jump of 47.9%.

The UCL-inspired trading fervour also saw $PSG volumes rise from $2M on matchday morning to $33.2M by the night’s end (+1,560%). As an example of on-pitch events inspiring on-chain activity, there are few better.

Interestingly, both clubs are going for a league and UCL double: PSG currently top Ligue 1 with three games to go, and could effectively clinch the title by beating Brest at home this weekend (May 10).
Arsenal also have three league games left, although they must win all of them to guarantee the title.
Fan Token™ Clubs Dominating European Football
For a second consecutive year, two Fan Token™ clubs will battle it out for the biggest prize in European football.
The Arsenal vs PSG match follows last year’s final between PSG and Inter Milan ($INTER). Three years ago, Manchester City ($CITY) won the first ever Fan Token™ UCL final by edging out Inter.
As well as dominating in Europe, clubs with digital assets have a stranglehold on domestic leagues, with the Premier League set to be won by either Arsenal or Manchester City ($CITY), Barcelona ($BAR) on the verge of clinching La Liga, PSG likely to win Ligue 1, and Galatasaray ($GAL) in pole position in the Turkish Süper Lig.
With Fan Token™ clubs fighting on multiple fronts, the final month of the European football calendar is likely to deliver more drama that echoes on-chain.
