Fan Token Premier League Review: Arsenal Go Top & Everton Halt Palace’s Run

Matchweek seven in the English Premier League brought about big changes to the league table, as Arsenal replaced Liverpool at the top of the league table, and Crystal Palace’s 12-game unbeaten run was brought to an end.

Let’s take a look at the outcomes of the weekend’s games, and see how the clubs’ respective Fan Tokens reacted.

Aston VIlla ($AVL) 2 – 1 Burnley

Villa’s 2-1 win over Burnley lifted the club to 13th in the table, and put some distance between Villa and the relegation zone. After a poor start to the season, Aston Villa are now on a 4-match unbeaten run, consisting of two wins and two draws.

After declining for most of the past month, the Aston Villa Fan Token ($VILLA) regained 6.4% in the lead up to the Burnley match. Since then, the token has lost 4.2% of its value, leaving it just a little bit higher than it started at the beginning of the week.

Everton ($EFC) 2 – 1 Crystal Palace ($CPFC)

Everton was always going to be a difficult game for Palace and that proved to be the case. Palace’s terrific 12-match unbeaten run may have come to a crashing halt, but the team is still 6th in the table and have laid down a good marker for the season.

Everton have lost just one out of the last five games, and now sit one point behind Palace in the league.

After a month of decline, the Everton Fan Token ($EFC) gained 5.3% since the start of October.

And after four months of growth, the Crystal Palace Fan Token ($CPFC)… still continued to grow this week, gaining 19.6% since the start of October. The token did lose 1.35% in the past twenty-four hours, however.

Brentford 0 – 1 Manchester City ($CITY)

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland outmuscled Brentford’s defenders to grab the only goal of the game in the ninth minute. City had 70% possession in this match, although the two teams’ expected goals differed only marginally, with 0.85 for City, and 0.70 for Brentford. The win sends City into fifth spot in the table, and leaves them unbeaten in the last four.

The Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) spiked to the tune of 8.7% in the past week, but a subsequent dip left it holding onto 4.2% growth for the week.

Arsenal ($AFC) 2 – 1 West Ham United

Arsenal’s 2-0 win over West Ham sent them top of the table following Liverpool’s loss to Chelsea. Arsenal have only conceded three goals this season, and their goal difference of +11 is as good as an extra point in comparison to Liverpool’s +4.

The Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) gained 6.4% this week. While the token is still down 5% for the month, it remains 14.8% up in the previous quarter.

Leeds United ($LUFC) 1 – 2 Tottenham Hotspur ($SPURS)

A win for Spurs sent them to third in the table, just two points behind league-leaders Arsenal. A loss for Leeds sees them slide down the table to 15th, with just one win from the last five.

The Tottenham Hotspur Fan Token ($SPURS) is currently up 2.6% for the week.

The Leeds United Fan Token ($LUFC) is up 2.7% in the past twenty-four hours, and 22% in the past week. The token has grown 54% in value since September 15.
