Could Palmeiras Spoil Flamengo’s Brasileirão Serie A Title Party?

The Brasileirão Serie A could be decided tonight depending on the outcomes of the matches involving title contenders Flamengo and Palmeiras.
Flamengo travel away to 11th-place Atlético Mineiro while Palmeiras travel away to 12th-place Grêmio.
With Flamengo currently leading the league table by four points — and with just three games remaining — a win for the Rio-based club could potentially clinch the title should Palmeiras lose at Grêmio.
A win for Flamengo could more or less assure their title win even if Palmeiras draw against Grêmio, given Flamengo’s +21 superior goal difference compared to their nearest rivals.
With so much on the line tonight, trading activity for the Flamengo Fan Token ($MENGO) and the SE Palmeiras Fan Token ($VERDAO) has begun to heat up.
So let’s take a look at how $MENGO and $VERDAO are reacting in the build up to tonight’s potential Brasileirão title deciders.
Flamengo Fan Token ($MENGO) Climbs 4.75%
In the past 24 hours the price of the Flamengo Fan Token ($MENGO) fluctuated wildly as traders speculated on the potential outcome of tonight’s matches.
On Monday, Nov. 24, the spot price of $MENGO jumped 4.6% as it rose from $0.085 to $0.089, while the token’s trade volume increased from $83,000 to $103,000.

After falling back down to the $0.085 range by Tuesday morning, the token kickstarted its ascension once more, climbing back up to $0.088.
Ultimately, despite these fluctuations, $MENGO’s general momentum has trended upwards since Nov. 21, when the token was priced at $0.084 — amounting to 4.75% gains in little over three days.
$MENGO’s volatility in the past few days could be a sign that traders are capitalizing on the uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the Brasileirão Serie A title, with the possibility remaining that the league could still go all the way to the final day.
Palmeiras Fan Token ($VERDAO) Gains 15% in Week
Late on Monday night the price of the SE Palmeiras Fan Token ($VERDAO) jumped 6.2% in the space of a few hours — climbing from $0.0241 up to $0.0256.
By Tuesday afternoon the $VERDAO price had fallen back slightly to $0.0246, leaving the token holding onto 2% growth over 24 hours.

Interestingly, since Nov. 20, when $VERDAO was priced in the upper $0.021 range, the token has ultimately increased by 12%.
Could this be a signal that traders expect the Brasileirão title race to be extended for at least one more week?
A lot could still happen in between now and the kick-off time of Flamengo and Palmeiras’ respective matches, and traders should expect more twists and turns in the market — and potentially in the Brazilian title race.
It should also be noted that 3rd-placed Cruzeiro — who are just six points off the league-leaders with nine points to play for — are also still among the potential title winners.
