Scotland prepare to host Switzerland at Glasgow’s Hampden stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 29, in a fixture that marks the country’s first home Nations League game.

Scotland’s Goalless Draw with Slovenia

Robbie Ure, making his senior debut, struck the outside of the post before the interval. After the break, Oli McBurnie and Billy Gilmour were denied by goalkeeper Jan Oblak, while substitute Kieron Bowie missed a clear chance to win the game for the Scots.
Pocognoli gave Ure and defender Stephen Welsh their debuts and brought McBurnie back into the side after five years away. The changes gave substance to the fresh start promised when he replaced Steve Clarke, although some of the questions that hung over Scotland at the 2026 World Cup still remain.
Could a Hampden Win Spark $SFA?
The home advantage can’t be underestimated in football, as is the case with many sports. Scotland’s “Tartan Army” grabbed headlines during the summer tournament, but will their passion be enough to drive a Scotland win against Switzerland on Tuesday?

An easy win over an easy opponent would tell us little about Pocognoli’s new Scotland side. The Swiss are likely to reveal a lot more about Scotland, and, potentially, the $SFA token.
