Can Crystal Palace ($CPFC) Win Their First European Trophy Tonight?

Tonight, Crystal Palace will attempt to win their maiden European trophy in the Conference League final against Spanish side Rayo Vallecano (May 27).
The London club, which celebrated their first major success by winning the FA Cup last May, are heavy favourites, with Polymarket rating their chances at 66% versus 35% for Rayo Vallecano.
Let’s take a look at what’s happening in the markets ahead of tonight’s showdown.
The Crystal Palace Fan Token™ ($CPFC) Is On the Rise
At the time of writing, with the match eight hours away, the Crystal Palace Fan Token™ ($CPFC) is valued at $0.0319 per coinmarketcap.com, its value climbing 2.8% over the last 24 hours. Trade volumes for the token, meanwhile, stand at $54,869.
In the wake of Palace’s 2-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the semifinal second leg (May 7), a result that sealed a 5-2 aggregate win for the Eagles, $CPFC volumes hit a peak of $64,925, with the asset valued at $0.0390.
If a win in the final sees $CPFC reclaim $0.0390, its value will jump 22.2%. So, how likely is a Crystal Palace victory in Leipzig?
Who Will Win the UEFA Conference League?
As mentioned, traders are favouring the London club to lift the trophy. While Palace destroyed Shakhtar Donetsk 5-2 in the last round, Rayo Vallecano beat Strasbourg 1-0 home and away.
In the quarterfinals, the Spanish team defeated AEK Athens although they had to rely on a 3-0 home win, having lost the second leg 3-1 in the Greek capital. Crystal Palace also lost away at Fiorentina (2-1), though their commanding 3-0 victory in London was enough to secure passage to the last four.
Domestically, neither team has set the heather ablaze this season: Crystal Palace finished 15th in the Premier League, just six points above the relegation zone, and they failed to win any of their last seven games.
Rayo Vallecano managed an eighth placed finish in La Liga, narrowly missing out on Conference League qualification. However, if they beat Crystal Palace they will be guaranteed a spot in next season’s Europa League.
Given neither side managed to qualify for Europe through their domestic leagues, that is a major carrot for both ahead of tonight’s final.
Although traders are backing $CPFC, Rayo Vallecano’s domestic form stands in stark contrast to their opponents’: while the Eagles failed to win any of their last seven games (4L, 3D), Rayo Vallecano went unbeaten in their last seven (4W, 3D). Indeed, it’s been almost six weeks since their last loss, to AEK Athens in the Conference League quarterfinal.
Set to be Oliver Glasner’s last match in charge of Crystal Palace, in what has been the longest season in the club’s history, Eagles fans will be desperate for a fitting sendoff for their beloved manager. So, can Palace win and send $CPFC higher?
