Can $AVL Continue Its Rise Ahead of European Final?

The Aston Villa Fan Token™ ($AVL) has been one of the biggest climbers over the past week, its spot price having increased 11%.
Although Villa have played just one game in that period – a 2-2 stalemate away to already-relegated Burnley – positive sentiment is building ahead of their Europa League final against Freiburg midweek (May 20).
Before that, though, Villa have the chance to secure Champions League football via their league standing, when they face Liverpool at Villa Park this evening.
Let’s consider the permutations ahead of a huge week for Unai Emery and his team.
Why $AVL is Rising with Three Massive Games Left
Evidently, the Aston Villa Fan Token™ ($AVL) is climbing due to the importance of the three games coming up.

With Liverpool and Villa tied for fourth place on 59 points, and Bournemouth lying four points back, Unai Emery’s men know that a win tonight will guarantee them Champions League football next season.
A draw or defeat, however, would allow Bournemouth to potentially close the gap to two points, meaning they could sneak into fifth at Aston Villa’s expense if the latter lose to Manchester City ($CITY) on the final day (May 24).

Indeed, Aston Villa could finish as low as seventh if they lose to Liverpool and City, although even in that scenario they could qualify for the Champions League by beating Freiburg on Wednesday.
In short, Aston Villa have three bites at the cherry to qualify for the Champions League. Best case scenario: win the Europa League and finish third in the Premier League. Worst case: lose all three games and miss out on UCL by finishing seventh.
From Nailed-On to In Jeopardy: $AVL’s Bid for Top Five
Villa enjoyed a comfortable ten-point cushion inside the top five a month ago, although the current spot price of $AVL is almost exactly what it was back then.
Between April 27 and May 1, $AVL sank from $0.165 to $0.130 (-21.2%) after 1-0 league defeats to Fulham and Nottingham Forest. Since then, it has rebounded to gain back 18.7% of its value amid their quest for Europa League glory.
The rise of $AVL over the past week shows traders are taking positions based on their expectations of Villa securing UCL, whether through the league or Europa League. Polymarket gives Villa a 56% chance of beating Freiburg next week, with the German team’s chances rated at just 19% and a draw 26%.
The same prediction platform indicates that speculators are less confident of Villa beating Liverpool, rating their chances at 34% versus 40% for the Reds, despite neither team registering a win in their most recent two games.
Whatever happens at Villa Park tonight, expect $AVL to generate plenty of interest between now and next Sunday, when the curtain falls on the 2025/26 Premier League season.
