Atlético Madrid Fan Token™ ($ATM) Shoots to Top of Rankings After Trading Frenzy

Most of the football world remains focused on international action, yet the Atlético Madrid Fan Token™ ($ATM) has just rocketed into top spot in the SportFi rankings.
Over the last 24 hours, the token’s spot price has surged 32.6%, while its seven-day gains stand at 45.7%. With a price of $1.83 and a market cap of $15.6M, $ATM has become the most valuable Fan Token™ by market cap.
Incredibly, $ATM’s price is more than three times higher than $PSG, the Fan Token™ of Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain, and more than six times higher than $BAR, the official digital asset of reigning La Liga rulers Barcelona.
So, how did we get here? And how high can $ATM go?
Why is $ATM Rising?
The logical question to ask is, why is $ATM suddenly rocketing when it has no games scheduled and the World Cup is dominating the sports headlines?
This is a question we pondered one week ago, when we reported on $ATM having surged 40.8% in one week, from $0.93 to $1.5 (+61.2%). That’s right, the Atlético Madrid Fan Token™ ($ATM) has climbed from $0.93 to $1.83 over the last fortnight, an incredible rise of 96.7%.

In the aforementioned article, we volunteered some theories for the rise, including Atlético’s rejection of a 150M euro offer for star man Julián Alvarez, and the possibility of a bidding war ensuing.
Yesterday, Alvarez disclosed that he wants to leave the club to “fulfil his dream.” However, $ATM only started to climb earlier today (June 24), rising from $1.43 at 10AM CEST to $1.96 by 13.30 CEST (37%), before losing some steam.

Given Alvarez has a contract with Atlético until 2030, having signed for the club in a £81.5M deal two years ago, it’s clear a transfer away from the Metropolitano would result in a tremendous windfall for his current paymasters.
Alvarez Out, Gyokeres In?
Reports suggest Atlético are exploring the possibility of selling Alvarez to UCL finalists Arsenal, in a cash-and-player deal. The package is said to be 60M euros plus Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, who scored 21 goals for the Gunners during the 2025/26 season, including five in the Champions League.
Selling the player to Arsenal makes sense, as Atlético would rather avoid bolstering their domestic rivals’ squads – irrespective, it seems, of the fee offered.
Whether the Alvarez saga is the reason for $ATM’s recent performance is up for debate. What can’t be denied is the strong volume and bullish on-chain momentum, as buyers push $ATM to the top of the Fan Token™ charts.
