Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL) Makes Strong Gains Amid 10-Match Unbeaten Streak

Popular wisdom suggests this year’s Premier League battle is a two-horse race between current league leaders Arsenal and Manchester City, yet Aston Villa’s recent run of form suggests they might be in with a shot.

Villa are on a ten-match win streak, having broken a club record set in 1897 in Sunday’s 2-1 league victory over Manchester United. They are currently third, just a point behind Manchester City and three points adrift of Arsenal, after 17 games.

Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL) Reflects Villains’ Momentum

Aston Villa’s recent form extends to Europe, where they sit third in the Europa League after six games, having lost just once. In fact, they are level on points with Midtjylland and Olympique Lyonnais, with only goal difference separating the trio.

It’s been almost 30 years since Villa last won a major trophy (the 1996 League Cup), but under manager Unai Emery, a Europa League winner with Sevilla and Villarreal, they look like a well-oiled machine, their squad populated by big characters and match winners like John McGinn, Morgan Rogers, and Matty Cash.

Naturally, the recent positive mood music has been reflected in the Fan Token market. The Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL) is up 14.2% over the last 24 hours with trade volume standing at $1.34 million. $AVL hit a price of $0.17 earlier today, up 41.6% from two days ago (Dec. 21).

The first week of December saw Aston Villa come from 2-0 down to beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-3 away from home, before dispatching league leaders Arsenal 2-1 at Villa Park. Was it then that Villa and $AVL backers started believing?

There was certainly a major bounce in the markets, as the value of $AVL rose  from $0.10 on Dec. 1 to $0.21 on Dec. 7, a staggering rise of 109%. Since then, Villa has posted three wins, one in Europe and two in the league, and although the Fan Token price has dropped from that high point it’s still performing well.

Aston Villa currently ranks 28th in the SportFi league table with a market cap of $952,060, compared to the top Premier League Fan Token, the Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY), which boasts a market cap of $8m. Arsenal ($AFC) is the second highest-ranked Fan Token with a market cap of $4.8m.

Can Villa End 2025 with a Bang?

The real test of Villa’s title credentials may come in the next seven days: this Saturday (Dec. 27) they face fourth-placed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, before meeting Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night (Dec. 30).

While a win over Chelsea would see Villa open up a ten-point gap over the Blues, if they were to follow it by beating Arsenal, they could end 2025 at the top of the Premier League. This would have been unfathomable in September, after they failed to win any of their first five league games.

Do $AVL traders have faith that Villa can keep their title hopes alive in the next week? We’ll soon find out.
