LALIGA Fan Token Review: Barcelona Continue Winning Run as Atletico Madrid Get Back on Track

It was a busy weekend of action in the Spanish LALIGA, with the five highest-placed teams looking to consolidate their position or leapfrog their closest rivals.
Of those five, two Fan Token clubs – namely Barcelona and Atletico Madrid – were scheduled to play. While league leaders Barcelona beat Osasuna 2-0 on Saturday, fourth-placed Atletico Madrid defeated Valencia 2-1 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
Here’s a closer look at this weekend’s games and the permutations for top LALIGA Fan Tokens.
Barcelona ($BAR) 2-0 Osasuna
Barcelona recorded their fifth straight win, and seventh in LALIGA, by dispatching Osasuna at Camp Nou on Saturday.
It wasn’t plain sailing, as it took 70 minutes to make a breakthrough when Raphinha slotted into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area. The Brazilian made it a double in the 86th minute to secure all three points.
The victory means Barcelona haven’t tasted defeat in the league since their 2-1 loss at the Bernabéu on October 26, and they now have a four-point lead over Real Madrid.
Unsurprisingly, trade volumes surged in the 24hrs preceding kickoff and reached $9.6m on game-day. After the win, the Barcelona Fan Token ($BAR) hit a value of $0.61, up 5.1% from three days before.
Atletico Madrid ($ATM) 2-1 Valencia ($VCF)
After consecutive league defeats to Athletic Club and Barcelona, Atletico Madrid stopped the rot with a hard-fought 2-1 win over a Valencia side who are now just one place above the relegation zone.
As with $BAR, trade volume for the Atletico Madrid Fan Token ($ATM) soared before the game, rising from $555k on December 12 to over $13m on matchday. As far as value goes, the win saw $ATM rise 5.7% between Dec. 11 and Dec. 13, from $0.87 to $0.92.
As for the Valencia CF Fan Token ($VCF), it traded sideways leading up to the match but has since fallen from $0.088 on Saturday morning to $0.084 today, a slide of 4.5%.
Sevilla ($SEVILLA) 4-0 Real Oviedo
Sevilla had lost three of their last five games, so Sunday’s 4-0 win over relegation battlers Real Oviedo was a welcome one. Sevilla are now ninth in the league, two points behind Celta Vigo and three adrift of Athletic Club.
Despite the win, the Sevilla Fan Token ($SEVILLA) has had a middling few days, trading between the $0.085 and $0.090 range.
Real Sociedad ($RSO) 1-2 Girona
Real Sociedad lost their third consecutive game at home to Girona on Friday, despite taking a first-half lead through Gonçalo Guedes. The loss saw the Real Sociedad Fan Token ($RSO) shed 8.6% between December 12 and December 14, although trade volumes remain low.
