English Fan Tokens Weekend Surge

It’s shaping up to be a long, hot English summer for football Fan Tokens this month, with several Fan Tokens belonging to England’s top teams experiencing sudden jumps in value this past weekend.

Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) – Up 31%

The Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) started off at a weekend low of $0.35 before a sudden upturn left it standing at $0.46 by Monday morning.

That’s 31.4% growth in less than 48 hours, and the price surge was accompanied by a near 1000% increase to trade volume as the daily handover jumped from $500,000 to more than $5 million.

Arsenal have just completed the transfer of long-time summer target, Viktor Gyökeres, marking the end to a multi-year saga which has seen Arsenal desperately in pursuit of a real number nine.

Manchester City ($CITY) – Up 27%

The Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) started the weekend at a valuation of $0.86. Fast-forward to Monday morning, and the ($CITY) token had climbed up to $1.10 – marking a miraculous 27% price gain.

Trade volume for ($CITY) jumped from $1.5 million at the start of the weekend, before climbing to $25 million by Monday morning. That marks an increase of 1,566% in the value of ($CITY) tokens changing hands.

City have made a wealth of signings this season, while also letting go of key staff like Kevin De Bruyne. It was the Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola who grabbed the most headlines on Monday morning, with numerous media outlets comparing his new moustache to that of football funnyman, Ted Lasso.

Everton FC Fan Token ($EFC) – Up 20%

The Everton FC Fan Token ($EFC) looked strong coming out of the weekend, having climbed from $0.15 to $0.18. This marked 20% growth for ($EFC), and sent the token into the Top-30 among Football Fan Tokens.

Everton’s price-pump coincided with an influx of trade volume, as the average daily trade volume climbed from around $100,000 to just under $500,000.

Everton manager and long-time legend, David Moyes, has already made some strong signings this summer, but recently revealed he still had a lot of business to conclude before the end of the window.

Tottenham Hotspur Fan Token ($SPURS) – 13%

The Tottenham Hotspur Fan Token ($SPURS) began the weekend nursing a price point of $0.45. By Monday morning the token price had climbed to $0.51 – marking growth of 13%.

Trade volume increased from $300,000 to over $3.3 million during that time, marking a volume increase of nearly 1,000%.

New Tottenham Manager Thomas Frank has already been backed with player transfers to the tune of €140 million, and more transfers are expected to take place as Spurs look to improve on last season’s 16th place finish.
