Why the São Paulo FC Fan Token ($SPFC) is Rising Ahead of Copa do Brasil Semis

São Paulo may have closed their Brasileirão Serie A season with a 1-0 defeat to Vitoria, but they still have a chance of qualifying for next year’s Copa Libertadores – even if that outcome isn’t in their own hands.

São Paulo Awaits Outcome of Copa do Brasil

São Paulo could still make it into next year’s Copa Libertadores qualifying stages if either Fluminense or Cruzeiro win the Copa do Brasil, since both teams finished the Brasileirão season above São Paulo in the league table, and the winner of the Copa do Brasil automatically qualifies for the Copa Libertadores.

The valuation of the São Paulo FC Fan Token ($SPFC) jumped 4.5% in reaction to last night’s surprise 1-0 win by Corinthians over Cruzeiro, who finished third in the league, and battled for the title right up until the final weeks.

Should Corinthians finish the job against Cruzeiro in the semi-final, and Fluminense overcome Vasco (which they are strongly favoured to do), it would leave Fluminense as strong favourites to go on and win the Copa do Brasil.

Fluminense finished 17 points above Corinthians in the league, and ended the season on a seven-match unbeaten run, recording just one loss in their final ten games.

Perhaps that’s why São Paulo FC Fan Token ($SPFC) holders are already hoping for a Fluminense win.

São Paulo FC Fan Token ($SPFC) Climbs on Copa do Brasil Outcome

Two hours prior to Cruzeiro’s 1-0 win over Corinthians last night, the valuation of the São Paulo FC Fan Token ($SPFC) stood at $0.0291.

Shortly after the final whistle blew, the valuation of $SPFC had climbed to $0.0304, which amounted to 4.5% growth in just a few hours.

By time of writing, the $SPFC price had levelled off at around the $0.03 mark, leaving the token holding on to 7.5% growth for the week in total.

Copa do Brasil Outlook

With Fluminense set to face Vasco da Gama in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil semi-final tonight, traders should expect to see further reaction from $SPFC depending on the outcome.

The only way São Paulo can make it into next season’s Copa Libertadores is if either Cruzeiro or Fluminense win the Copa do Brasil.

With Cruzeiro already 1-0 down in the first leg, São Paulo FC Fan Token holders already appear to be banking on an eventual Fluminense win.
