Premier League Fan Token Preview: Arsenal Get a Gimme While City and Palace Face Off

Premier League leaders Arsenal lost just their second game of the season against Aston Villa last week, and for the first time in months, it looked like Arsenal’s tight grip on the title race was beginning to slip.
But Arsenal’s two point lead at the top of the table will likely be maintained for at least one more week, as the club in first spot faces the only team in the league yet to record a win this season.
Not all the games that Fan Token clubs are involved in will be so easy this weekend. Man City face a resurgent Crystal Palace team who are currently in fourth, while seventh-placed Everton face fifth-placed Chelsea.
Let’s see how the Premier League Fan Tokens are shaping up ahead of this weekend’s games.
Arsenal ($AFC) vs Wolves
Doubt was cast over Arsenal’s potential to win their first Premier League title since 2004 last week when they lost to Aston Villa. A resounding 3-0 win away to Club Brugge in the Champions League came as a welcome palate-cleanser, and the Gunners have the chance to further expunge that Villa defeat from their memory against Wolves on Saturday.
Wolves are rooted to the bottom of the table without having recorded a win all season. With just two points from 15 games, Wolves could set a new record low points tally in the Premier League if things continue as they are. Things don’t look like changing this weekend.
After gaining 49% between Oct. 10 and Nov. 29 during Arsenal’s unbeaten run, the Arsenal Fan Token ($AFC) cooled off moving into December. Despite this, trade volume climbed from $500,000 to $2.6 million in the past 48 hours, and the token price is up 2.1% for the week.
Crystal Palace ($CPFC) vs Manchester City ($CITY)
Going by recent form, there’s very little difference between these two teams. In their last ten games, Man City have won eight and lost two. Crystal Palace, meanwhile, have won seven, lost two, and drawn one.
That good form has carried Crystal Palace to fourth in the league, and despite Man City being made favourites for the match, Palace will have every belief that they can secure a win on their home patch.
Man City will have plenty of belief too, however, especially after beating Real Madrid away from home in the Champions League in midweek.
The Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) has gained 12% since the start of the month, and 3% since the start of the week. Trade volume fell back to around the $1.5 million range after recording an influx of $37 million earlier in the week.
The Crystal Palace Fan Token ($CPFC) climbed 19% earlier this week, climbing from $0.042 up to $0.05. It subsequently dropped back down to the $0.047 range, marking a 6% retracement.
Chelsea vs Everton ($EFC)
Everton have lost just one of their last six games – notching up four wins and one draw. One of those wins came away at Manchester United, so the Toffees won’t be fazed as they travel to Stamford Bridge this weekend, especially given that Chelsea haven’t won in their last four league games.
Everton were in mid-table just a few weeks ago, and now find themselves within just two points of fourth place. Chelsea are just one point ahead of them. While we’re only approaching the mid-season mark, the outcome of this match could have a big say on the eventual make up of the upper end of the table.
The valuation of the Everton Fan Token ($EFC) spiked to the tune of 28% following last week’s win against Nottingham Forest, which lifted the club into fifth. The spike was accompanied by a four-month high influx of trade volume, but ultimately proved to be short lived.
At the time of writing, $EFC had held on to 7.2% gains since the start of the month.
Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur ($SPURS)
The last two league meetings between these two went the way of Nottingham Forest, but the three games prior went the way of Spurs.
Tottenham have been inconsistent this season but are unbeaten in their last two, and have a good opportunity to build momentum against one of this season’s early relegation candidates.
A two-month high influx of trade volume hit the Tottenham Hotspur Fan Token ($SPURS) earlier this week, as more than $1.2 million changed hands on Dec. 8. The $SPURS valuation climbed 9% amid the influx, immediately following the team’s 2-0 win over Brentford.
West Ham vs Aston Villa ($AVL)
Four points currently separate Aston Villa in third from Crystal Palace in fourth. A win over West Ham this weekend could put a serious stamp of credibility on Villa’s top-four ambitions, especially if Palace lose to City and Everton take points off Chelsea.
Villa have won their last five league games, and their last eight games in all competitions.
After last week’s win over Arsenal, the valuation of the Aston Villa Fan Token ($AVL) increased by 93% – from $0.109 up to $0.211. Over $3.4 million worth of $AVL tokens changed hands during the spike – the first time that had happened since 2023.
Eventually falling back to the $0.14 mark, $AVL was left holding on to very significant 28% growth since the start of the week, and 59% growth since mid-November.
Brentford vs Leeds United ($LUFC)
Leeds reversed a poor run of form recently, securing a 3-1 win against Chelsea, and a 3-3 draw against Liverpool in their past two games. Brentford present as good an opportunity as any for Leeds to continue that run, given they’re just two positions above Leeds in the league.
The Leeds United Fan Token ($LUFC) has been one of the more volatile tokens in recent times – gaining and losing 15-20% several times across the past month. The token price is down 7.2% in the past 72 hours, but remains up 11% for the week, and 19% for the month.
