Brazil National Team Fan Token ($BFT) Jumps 34% on World Cup Group Draw

If the crypto markets are anything to go by, it appears that Brazilian football fans may be anticipating easy qualification from the 2026 World Cup group stage, after the draw was announced a few days ago.

In the days following the group stage draw, the valuation of the Brazil National Team Fan Token ($BFT) immediately kickstarted an ascension that saw it gain 34% in the space of four days.

Could this be a sign that Brazil fans and traders alike are already banking on Brazil successfully coming through a World Cup group that includes Scotland, Morocco and Haiti?

Brazil National Team ($BFT) Gains 34% on World Cup Draw

On the day the World Cup group stage draw was announced, the valuation of the Brazil National Team Fan Token ($BFT) stood at just above $0.01.

Following the announcement of the draw results, the valuation of $BFT began climbing, eventually reaching a peak of $0.0137 by Tuesday, Dec. 9 – marking growth of 34% in just under four days.

Over 4 million $BFT tokens changed hands on Dec. 9 alone.

While the current Brazil team may not feature the plethora of superstars of yesteryear, the fact remains that Brazil are among the favourites for any World Cup they appear in.

Under the guidance of legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti, their chances in 2026 may be as good as they possibly could be – even though recent results suggest the players are still getting used to their new boss.

Perhaps that’s why trading action surrounding $BFT has been building since mid-November, shortly after Brazil secured qualification from the South American qualification stage.

Since qualification was secured, the $BFT valuation has increased by 49%

Easy World Cup Group for Brazil?

Trading action on $BFT suggests a lot of people may already be assured of Brazil successfully coming through the World Cup group stage.

Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti appeared confident following the draw, but was careful to exercise caution regarding what he called a “very solid” Scotland team, and a Morocco team that he referred to as “the toughest team in the group.”

“It’s going to be very difficult. Scotland arrives at the World Cup having won important matches… They are physically strong and have a very solid team. We have to think about winning all three games,” said Ancelotti.

“Morocco is the toughest team in the group, but we have to be confident,” Ancelotti added.

Ancelotti Clarifies Neymar Stance

Immediately after the draw was announced, Ancelotti faced questions from the media regarding whether or not Neymar would be part of his World Cup plans.

Neymar hit a golden run of form for Santos at the end of the Brasileirão Serie A season, helping save his boyhood club from relegation. Neymar scored five goals in his final four games, including a superb hat-trick against Juventude.

“If we’re talking about Neymar, we have to talk about other players. We have to think about Brazil, which could have Neymar or be without Neymar, with other players or without other players,” said Ancelotti.

When pressed further on the question, Ancelotti responded: “I want to make it clear that we are in December, the World Cup is in June, and I will choose the team that goes to the World Cup in May. If Neymar deserves to be there, if he’s doing well, if he’s better than someone else, he will play in the World Cup, period. I don’t owe anything to anyone,” said Ancelotti.

Neymar is reportedly set to undergo knee surgery in the coming weeks, and his contract with Santos runs out at the end of the month. Some people at the club are reportedly worried that they cannot afford to renew the forward’s contract, however the majority opinion is that Neymar did enough at the end of the season to secure a contract renewal for at least another six months.
