Man City Fan Token ($CITY) Retains 15% Monthly Gains as Pep Prepares for New Season

Manchester City held an open training session in front of their own fans on Tuesday, and supporters and media alike got a glimpse of some of the tasks facing manager Pep Guardiola ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) still holds on to 15% gains for the month at time of writing, although the current price of $0.95 is still some way off the monthly high of $1.10.
Average daily volume of around $6 million remains strong, but again, is some way off the monthly peak of $34 million.
Ultimately, the $CITY token’s trajectory for the past thirty days remains pointed upwards as summer anticipation builds ahead of the new season.
Man City’s Squad Size a Concern for Pep
The first thing that was evident to onlookers was the overly large size of the City squad, even with five players missing the session.
Claudio Echeverri, James McAtee, Abdukodir Khusanov, Ruben Dias and Manu Akanji were all left to their own devices for much of the session while the remaining 22 players took part in team training drills.
Some players are still making their comebacks following injury problems, while other City players are poised for a move away from the Etihad this summer.
Jack Grealish has been the subject of much transfer speculation this summer, with Everton ($EFC) and Aston Villa ($AVL) touted as possible destinations for the out-of-favour winger. City are apparently ready to subsidise a large portion of Grealish’s wages just to get him out of the team.
Rodri Back in Training
Perhaps the biggest positive for City was the return of Ballon D’Or winner Rodri to training, although it was clear that the defensive midfielder was being managed carefully following such a serious injury.
Rodri was the lynchpin for much of City’s success in the past few years, and his absence was felt immediately on the pitch as City faltered for the majority of last season.
Whether or not Rodri will feature in Man City’s upcoming pre-season friendly against Italian side Palermo remains to be seen, but City fans can take hope from the midfielder’s return.
