Madrid Derby and European Wins Send Atleti Fan Token ($ATM) up 44%

It’s been a good week for Atletico Madrid fans after ‘Los Rojiblancos’ surprised city rivals Real Madrid in a 5-2 win, and then followed that up with a 5-1 win against Frankfurt in the Champions League.

Prior to the kickoff of the Madrid derby on Saturday, the Atletico Madrid Fan Token ($ATM) was trading at a price of $1.23 while the daily trade volume stood at around $6.5 million.

After beating Real Madrid and hammering Frankfurt in the Champions League fixture, the Atleti Fan Token woke up on Wednesday 44% more valuable, while trade volume had increased by    seven-fold – up to $47 million.

Atletico Madrid’s $ATM 44% Price Surge Follows Big Wins

Upon hitting a high of $1.78 late on Tuesday night, the Atletico Madrid Fan Token’s growth over four days stood at 44%.

Following the surge, the Fan Token price fell back to the $1.50 range and attempted to breakout again, before eventually falling back to the $1.40 range by Wednesday morning.

That still leaves the Atleti Fan Token holding on to 13% of its growth prior to the consecutive demolitions of their opponents this week, while trade volume still stands at $47 million – up 587% prior to the wins.

Despite the pullback to the $1.40 range, the $ATM token is still up 47% since mid-June, when it was priced at $0.95.

Notably, today’s influx of trade volume is the second-highest that $ATM trading has reached in the past six months.

Listed on seventeen exchanges, the majority of the token’s trading took place on Binance ($28M), BtcTurk ($10.5M), Paribu ($3.6M), and HTX ($3.3M), among others.

Biggest Derby Win in 75 Years; Griezmann Hits 200

Saturday’s win against their city rivals was Atleti’s biggest derby win in 75 years, and sent the team up to 5th in La Liga where they’ve only lost once so far this season.

Real Madrid may have dominated possession (63%) during the derby match, but stats show Atletico beat their opponents for expected goals (2.34 vs 0.67), total shots (13 vs 6), shots on target (7 vs 2), as well as big chances, corner kicks, touches in the opposition box, and more.

Another landmark was set in Tuesday night’s 5-1 over Frankfurt, as long-time Atletico Madrid striker netted his 200th goal for the club in all competitions.
