$MENGO v $VERDÃO: Where Brazil’s Biggest Rivalry Turns Into a $12,000 On-Chain Trading Battle
Flamengo and Palmeiras are fighting for the two biggest trophies in South America. The South American Championship and The Brazilian Championship. Two competitions that define legacies — and now, they define trading rewards too.
The $MENGO x $VERDÃO Trading Competition on FanX transforms every buy and sell into part of a larger football story, where the outcome on the pitch and the behaviour of traders combine to determine who earns their share of a massive reward pool.
Running from November 24th to December 7th, the competition unfolds across two battles, each shaped by real football results and on-chain trading volume. And this time, the prize structure reacts to the story as it happens.
Battle 1: South American Glory Meets Fan Token Volume (24–29 November)
Only the trading volume generated between 24 – 0h01(CET) and 29 November – 9pm (CET) counts towards the first battle, the fight for the South American Championship. When the final whistle blows in Lima on 29 November, a snapshot locks in the top 20 traders for each pair. These traders are guaranteed their rewards for Battle 1 — even if they drop out of the top 20 during Battle 2 (for the Brazilian Championship)
What happens next depends on two factors: Who wins the South American Championship, and which Fan Token had the highest trading volume during this phase.
If Flamengo lift the trophy and $MENGO finishes with the higher trading volume, the top $MENGO traders take home $8,000 in $MENGO Fan Tokens, while the top $VERDAO traders receive $2,000 in $VERDAO.
If Flamengo win but it’s $VERDAO that records the stronger trading volume, both sides split the pool evenly, with $5,000 going to the top $MENGO traders and $5,000 to the top $VERDAO traders.
If Palmeiras become champions and MENGO somehow still leads in trading volume, the rewards balance again: $5,000 to the top $MENGO traders and $5,000 to the top $VERDAO traders.
But if Palmeiras win and $VERDAO also dominates in volume, the distribution heavily favours the green side of the rivalry, with $8,000 going to the top $VERDAO traders and $2,000 to the top $MENGO traders.
Every scenario keeps the competition alive on both the pitch and the chain, creating a dynamic reward pool shaped by actual football events and trader sentiment.
Across all outcomes, the rewards follow the same pattern. First place receives 15% of the total distributed. Second and third place share 20%. Traders ranked fourth to tenth collectively earn 35%, while those placed between eleventh and twentieth share the remaining 30%. It’s a format that recognises precision trading but still rewards depth of participation.
Phase 2: The Brazilian League Decider (30 November – 7 December)
Once the confetti settles in Lima, the rivalry shifts straight into the final chapter of the league season — and so does the competition. Phase 2 adds an additional $2,000 prize pool on top of what was awarded in Phase 1.
This second pool is allocated entirely to the top 20 traders by cumulative volume from the full competition window (November 24 at0h01(CET) to December 7 at 7pm(CET)), but the decisive factor is single and simple: who finishes higher in the Brazilian Série A.
If Flamengo end the season above Palmeiras, the top 20 $MENGO traders receive the full $2,000 in MENGO Fan Tokens, while $VERDAO traders earn nothing in this phase.
If Palmeiras finish higher, the full $2,000 goes to the top $VERDAO traders instead.
Just like Phase 1, the distribution inside the pool follows the same structure: 15% to first place, 20% to second and third combined, 35% to the group from fourth to tenth, and 30% to those between eleventh and twentieth.
It’s a league title race — but now with on-chain consequences.
A Rivalry That Rewards Every Move
The $MENGO x $VERDÃO Trading Competition stands at the intersection of football passion and blockchain energy. Two clubs. Two trophies. A combined $12,000 reward pool shaped in real time by who wins on the pitch and who builds the biggest volume on FanX.
Every goal shifts the narrative. Every trade shifts the leaderboard.
And for the first time, the rivalry between Flamengo and Palmeiras pays out in a way only Web3 can deliver.
Trade for your club. Trade for your ranking. Trade for glory.
