Atletico Madrid Fan Token ($ATM) Hits 80% Weekly Gains Amid Simeone Rebuild

The Atletico Madrid Fan Token ($ATM) has been one of the best-performing Fan Tokens on the market this summer, coinciding with one of the biggest revamps of the Atleti squad ever witnessed during Diego Simeone’s reign.

In the 24 hours leading up to time of writing, the Atletico Madrid Fan Token ($ATM) climbed 32% in value, moving from the daily low of $1.43 to $1.89.

Indeed, $ATM has been outperforming a majority of the football Fan Token market, logging 80% growth in the past week alone – and 94% in the past month.

Even following a brief cooling off period following today’s $1.89 peak, the current $1.62 price point still leaves $ATM on very healthy growth for the day (13%), week (54%) and month (67%).

An incredible influx of $ATM trades saw the Fan Token register more daily trade volume than at any time since late 2021, during the alt season pump. Last week, daily trade volume for $ATM rose from a mere $500,000, to over $148 million.

Just over 39% of $ATM trades occurred on Binance in the past 24 hours, with exchanges like BTCTurk, BinanceTR, Upbit, Bitget, GATE.io, HTX, and others making up the rest.

Atletico Madrid Amid Historic Team Shake-Up

There was a time when you could predict the Atletico Madrid first-eleven without much effort. Diego Simeone’s preference for persisting with ‘Plan A’ at the expense of any (potential, but ultimately non-existent) ‘Plan B’ made it rather easy to guess who would play where.

This season, however, is shaping up to be different. Never before has there been such an all-encompassing changeover in one summer transfer window.

Atleti have already spent more than $174 million on player transfers this summer. Among them are five new defenders (not including the new goalkeeper) and three new midfielders. The club has also let go of ageing talent like Witsel, Correa, Azpilicueta, De Paul, and even club legend, Saul Niguez.

Diego Simeone continues to seek out more midfield talent, including Napoli winger Giacomo Raspadori and Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez. By the end of the transfer window, it will likely be entirely possible that Simeone could field a completely different defence and midfield from last season.

Perhaps the most exciting transfer is Atleti’s capture of Johnny Cardoso – a perceptive, elegant, yet tough midfield holding player who could represent the completion of Simeone’s six-year search to replace Ballon d’Or winner, Rodri.
