Inter and AC Milan Fan Tokens Face Off in the Derby della Madonnina

This weekend’s Serie A fixtures include one of the most highly anticipated matches of the season – the Derby della Madonnina between Inter Milan and AC Milan.

In the past 24 hours both the Inter Milan Fan Token ($INTER) and the AC Milan Fan Token ($ACM) saw upticks to their values and their trade volumes.

With Inter Milan currently sitting atop the Serie A league table, and with AC Milan just two points behind, there’s more than just the usual pride of the city on the line when the two clubs meet on Sunday, Nov. 23.

AC Milan Fan Token ($ACM) vs Inter Milan Fan Token ($INTER)

With the Milan derby around 72 hours away at time of writing, trading began to heat up early for both tokens on Thursday, Nov. 20.

The value of the Inter Milan Fan Token ($INTER) increased by 3% early on Thursday morning, from $0.337 up to $0.347.

At the same time, the $INTER token’s trade volume increased from $337,000 up to $601,000.

Historic data shows the majority of trade volume tends to flow into Fan Tokens in the day or so immediately prior to matchday, so traders hoping to profit from the outcome of the Milan derby should keep an eye on trading activity in the lead up to the match.

Meanwhile, the value of the AC Milan Fan Token ($ACM) increased by 4.7% on Thursday, climbing from a spot price of $0.510 up to $0.534.

Trade volume stood at $925,000 just over a day ago, and had climbed to $1.6 million by time of writing.

With $ACM trade volume hitting heights of over $4 million in the past week, and as much as $16 million in the past month, it won’t be a surprise if the token’s trading activity increases even further as matchday draws closer.

The Derby della Madonnina

The Derby della Madonnina (Derby of the Little Madonna) is named after the statue of the Virgin Mary that sits atop the Duomo cathedral in the center of the city of Milan.

The derby has always held major significance in the city of Milan regardless of either team’s position in the league table, and is a point of pride for both sets of fans.

Sunday’s fixture holds extra significance this time around. Inter are currently first in Serie A, while AC Milan occupy third place – just two points behind.

A win for Inter could see them go five points ahead of their city rivals, while a win for AC Milan could see them displace Inter at the top of the table – depending on the outcome of second-placed AS Roma’s match against Cremonese.
