$CITY Fan Token Holders Set for More Unique Man City Experiences

Manchester City’s global support base is growing familiar with the benefits of holding the club’s official Fan Token.
In a post published to the official club website earlier this week, a summary of exclusive fan experiences in the 24/25 season was given. Among other perks, holders of the Manchester City Fan Token ($CITY) were able to watch players prepare for games at the club academy, take pitchside tours, and select the songs that would boom around the Etihad on matchdays.
Premier League contenders City are committed to delivering even better fan experiences in the current season, with a dozen token-holders set to enjoy the upcoming Real Madrid match in a unique setting…
Man City ($CITY) Fan Token: A Gateway to Unique Experiences
Launched in March 2021, the $CITY token naturally has a special significance for fans of the Manchester club, winners of the 2023 Champions League.
Every year, the club has sought to expand and enrich fan experience for supporters, with the 24/25 campaign delivering the most memorable opportunities. From voting on the design of corner flags to waving custom-made Kevin De Bruyne flags during the Belgian’s last ever City game, token-holders enjoyed a season to remember – even as the club failed to list a major trophy for the first time in eight years.
In a sense, the 24/25 season was the end of an era for City: one of the all-time great Premier League midfielders, De Bruyne had scored 108 goals and registered 177 assists during a trophy-laden ten-year spell.
The Belgian’s midfield partner İlkay Gündoğan, who played 358 games in City blue, also parted company with the club in September, having signed a two-year deal with Galatasaray ($GAL).
To commemorate the significance of De Bruyne’s final season, $CITY token-holders voted for their favourite photo from the campaign, with all participants receiving a special NFT of the winning photo: a shot of several players locked in a pre-kickoff huddle, the sky as blue as their shirts, with De Bruyne fittingly in the middle.
A Real Champions League Treat
Currently second in the Premier League table, just four points adrift of Arsenal ($AFC), every upcoming game is crucial for City: after facing Newcastle away from home this weekend, they have back-to-back home ties against Bayer Leverkusen (Champions League) and Leeds United ($LUFC).
Some lucky token-holders will already be keenly anticipating the December 10 encounter with Real Madrid, however. When Haaland and co. take to the Bernabéu, a dozen $CITY holders will get to watch the match over dinner from the first-team changing room at the Etihad.
A Fan Experience Arms Race
These kinds of money-can’t-buy experiences are becoming more common as Fan Token adoption grows and clubs strive to go one better than their rivals.
Three days before the Real Madrid-City game, some holders of the Juventus Fan Token ($JUV) will enjoy a private meet-and-greet with the team at their pre-match hotel in Naples, before a crunch clash with Napoli ($NAP).
When clubs offer memorable perks – like City have done with the private dining experience – the stakes are raised across the board. Arsenal won’t want to be outdone by City, just as Napoli won’t wish to be outdone by Juventus. Ultimately, this burgeoning Fan Token arms race bodes well for holders and the market as a whole.
